Life is meant to be savored, but that’s not easy with no family, limited prospects, and a past you’d rather not talk about. Still, Callie Smith doesn’t know how to feel when she discovers she has a brother and a sister - Malcolm, who grew up with affection, wealth, and privilege, and Keira, a streetwise 12-year-old. Despite her trepidation, she moves into the grand family home with her siblings and grandfather on the shores of Lake Washington, hoping just maybe this will be the start of a whole new life. But starting over can be messy.

The narrator is awful. The story was okay but the narrator made it such a very hard book to finish. She made Mel sound like a high school, with the snarky attitude and all. She also needs to work on the voices she does of men. Oh gosh, they were horrible. Sorry Marietta, but I don’t think this is your calling.

Idk about the narrator. That’s all I kept thinking about throughout the story. It was almost as if she was making everyone sound like they were still in bed with that someone and they were talking in a slow sexy voice. It was ALL the time. I like to hear normal voices when they r just standing around talking not that sultry seductive voice.
