There are truly great readers out there...names like Roy Dotrice come to mind immediately. There are some that are just ok. The most important part of reading a book, that is more conversation than anything else, is that you have to be able to tell who is saying what. Part of the responsibility of that is how it is written. However, when there is absolutely no difference in tone or inflection it is difficult for the listener. I think this book would have been much more enjoyable to listen to if it had a better reader. There was zero performance value to this reading. Otherwise, there are some great moments in this book, truly insightful explanations of the main character's experiences and feelings.

We all dream of the forbidden, but some of us make those dreams come true....With the same mystery, menace, and intensity as her Vampire books, Anne Rice's Exit to Eden explores the forbidden by taking us to The Club, a vacation paradise where no aspect of sexual pleasure is taboo.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I dont think I received the entire audio book, it seems to be missing huge portions. Perhaps my download went wrong initially. It would have been better to have the entire book of course.

What three words best describe Gillian Anderson and Gil Bellows ’s voice?

I am not a fan of when men make women's voices or when women try to sound like men. It completely ruins the vibe of the scene and always sounds condescending as those are voices people usually use in mockery of the opposite sex.

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

What did you like best about The Name of the Wind? What did you like least?

IT IS A DECENT FANTASY STORY BUT THERE IS A LOT OF PHRASING THAT SEEMS TOO CURRENT IN SPEECH AND MANNERISM FOR THE CHRONOLOGICAL AGE IMPLIED.IT MAKES FOR A FEELING OF BEING PULLED FROM THE STORY TO THE PRESENT. FEELS DISJOINTED.

Who was your favorite character and why?

MASTER KELVIN

Which character – as performed by Nick Podehl – was your favorite?

MASTER KELVINS ACCENT, THE ONLY AFFECTATION THAT SEEMED SMOOTH.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

YES

Any additional comments?

IN SECTION 88, THE END OF THE CHAPTER IS MISSING, SO FAR. IT SKIPPED TO THE BEGINNING OF THE NEXT CHAPTER AND NOW I AM LOST IN THE STORY. THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER GAPS BUT I DIDN'T NOTATE THE LOCATION IN THE AUDIO TRACK.
