You're not supposed to want the one who torments you. When my stepbrother, Elec, came to live with us my senior year, I wasn't prepared for how much of a jerk he'd be. I hated that he took it out on me because he didn't want to be here. I hated that he brought girls from our high school back to his room. But what I hated the most was the unwanted way my body reacted to him.

Don't get me wrong, I like this steamy parts. But I don't go for the foul language constantly and the odd sexual fantasy descriptions. I'd like a good old fashioned romance with a gentleman with steamy sex scenes. Plus I was bored out of my mind listening to her read his novel . It was like reading the book twice.

I have only given 5 stars to Harry Potter books performed by Jim Dale. But this may be one of my all time favorite romance novels. The novel would be a great story even without the steamy romance. It's exciting from beginning to end. The steamy romance just makes it even even better. Brittany does a good job with the narration, but it's so much nicer when a man reads the men's characters' dialogue.

The heroin was not very likable for the vast majority of the book. So it was too unbelievable that the hero would actually fall for her, and he fell too suddenly. Then, miraculously, the heroine seems to change her stripes. Finally, I agree with other commentators that the voice of the heroine was very off putting. But I liked book 1 so much, that I plan to give book 3 a shot despite this book.

As a fan of Elizabeth Lowell, I have fairly high expectations for a great story. This story was too predictable and very unlike Elizabeth Lowell. The narrator did okay. But she was no Anne Flosnik. At times I did not know who was supposed to be speaking since the voices used by the narrator were not that different. The book was not terrible, nor was it great, hence the rating of 3.

The Bodine ranch and resort in western Montana is a family business, an idyllic spot for vacationers. A little over thirty thousand acres and home to four generations, it's kept running by Bodine Longbow with the help of a large staff, including new hire Callen Skinner. There was another member of the family once: Bodine's aunt, Alice, who ran off before Bodine was born. She never returned, and the Longbows don't talk about her much. The younger ones, who never met her, quietly presume she's dead.

I like Nora Roberts. I like her because she tells a great story and makes me feel like I'm actually wherever the characters are. but in this book, she took less time describing the place and a whole lot more time describing the terrible things that happened to Aunt Alice. I was looking for a light-hearted romance and was getting depressed by the book. I quit reading on chapter 9, but I'll exchange it for another Nora Roberts in the hopes its a more normal light-hearted.
