Finally, a book about open marriage that grapples with the problems surrounding monogamy and fidelity in an honest, heartfelt, and non-fringe manner. Jenny Block is your average girl next door, a suburban wife and mother for whom married life never felt quite right. While many books on this topic presuppose that the listener is ready to embrace an "alternative lifestyle", Block operates from the assumption that most couples who are curious about or engaged in open marriages are in fact more like her - normal people who question whether monogamy is right for them.

This is one of if not the best books on the topic.
It avoids the preachy tone many of the other books about open relationships have.

To make an open marriage work, Franklin and Celeste knew they needed to make sure no one else ever came between them. That meant there had to be rules. No overnights, no falling in love, and either one of them could ask the other to end an outside relationship if it became too much to deal with. It worked for nearly two decades, and their relentless focus on their own relationship let them turn a blind eye to the emotional wreckage they were leaving behind them.

The only problem I had was at 2h:12min part the reader loses track repeats and literally coughs (?!) on the audio track?!

Please edit that out. It makes it a very difficult section to follow the story.

I think people will find this a bit more intimidating than "ethical slut" but it has tons of good extremely practical advice.

I would definitely suggest reading "ethical slut" first but you shouldn't miss out on this one either.

Adverbs, flat characters and zero plot developement. This one has it all. If you're looking for hot sex look elsewhere.

The bdsm aspects are incredibly lackluster.

If you're looking for a preagnant woman to be slapped then this might be the book for you.

Yet despite his obsession with fitness, he failed to help his clients reach their goals. Something had to give. Manning needed to understand what it was like to be on the other side; he had to spend a few months in his clients' shoes - or rather, size. For six months, Manning radically let himself go. He stopped exercising and ate the typical American diet.

Leathermen illuminates the kinky subculture of men who wear leather and the men who crave them. These intelligent, well-crafted, and steamy stories expand listeners' horizons and stretch the limits of imagination with some of the edgiest erotica being written today. Tales of delectably sordid adventures in sex clubs, back-room bars, and bathhouses, as well as private sex parties and first-time forays into the world of leather, take listeners on a hot and heavy journey through this definitely un-hidebound world.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The story was sort of lacking. Sex failed to have proper buildup and the descriptions of the act were sort of missing the mark.

Has Leathermen turned you off from other books in this genre?

I know there are better books.

Have you listened to any of Drake Stone’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

There are actually more readers than one in this book. I guess it sort of adds personality but the over the top cockney accent was a bit much for one story.

What character would you cut from Leathermen?

The guy who can't cum and has a rash. Just ew.
