I have waited this book for a long time because I was afraid it would be tedious astronaut hero worship. I found it to be very honest sounding, well-researched book and I'd enjoyed it a lot. the reader was absolutely excellent.

Amusing and diverting. I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. the story was better thought out than most, but the characters really carried the whole book.

NOTE- Tastes differ. this review is for my own purposes. Others will hopefully enjoy this book a lot, but I have found I have to make notes to myself now because my library is getting out of control.

If that was really an online game it would be the most boring game ever. The protagonist is continuously absolutely incapable of understanding what's going on or reaching even the simplest conclusion from the context. Then frustratingly he frequently thinks of a dumb reason not ask the people around him the important and obvious questions.

I like the book in the reader both very much. The ending felt a little bit rushed, but I won't say any more to avoid spoilers. I will definitely continue to follow this author.

** this review is for my own personal purposes to keep track of the books I've read since my library is getting out of control. I expect many readers will really enjoy this book and it's got high ratings. I would not discourage anyone from getting in enjoying this book. this is just my own personal observations for my own personal taste. **

A fairly short ways in I was thinking oh God not another boot camp scenario. by the end I just felt like it was the dumbest thing I've read in a long time. super military hero worship, with ridiculously written scenarios to try and make him look super smart. there were about 10 pages where you actually showed some good planning and foresight in decision-making and most of the rest was just not readable.

I enjoy this kind of Light reading. If I had a complaint I would say that as an audiobook sometimes you was trouble keeping track of what character was where or doing what or who they were. Sometimes that's just me and I'm too busy to really listen and pay attention

The reader was excellent, but the story did very little for me. I thought the main character was impossible to like, and she never improved. By the end I couldn't have cared less what happened to her, or Artemis.

This book is about five times better written than most of the dozens of thrillers that I have picked up over the years because they were on sale as Audible Daily Deal. I paid full price for this on the strength of the author's acting. This book has better characters, better dialogue, and a better story than nearly all.
The writer was extremely good at letting you know which character is talking and reminding you of who is who- both huge points in audiobooks. I didn't get to the end feeling completely satisfied, but it was definitely in the upper 95th percentile. The end felt a bit rushed. I would happily discuss this further, but I am not going to give anything away here. I hope the author writes a lot more books.

I really enjoyed this story, but I found I had to reinterpret each line through my head after I heard the reader say it. Not because it was hard to understand but because she made the dialogue so lifeless and bizarre that the humor was lost. The story was totally unexpected. I didn't read any reviews before I bought it.
