Enter the 1920s Golden Age of Detection with this first novel from Dorothy L. Sayers, featuring the debut of a dashing gentleman detective, one of the great characters of mystery fiction - Lord Peter Wimsey. An unidentified corpse is found in a bathtub, and the police are jumping to conclusions about its identity and that of the murderer. Lord Peter Wimsey steps in and, with the help of his friend, Inspector Parker; and his manservant, Bunter, solves the mystery.

Narration is difficult for me to understand, monotone, nasal, fast, poor enunciation. Returned for different narrator.

Sixteen of America's favorite author-anglers spin tales of mystery and fishing in this collection. From the tragic to the comic with many stops in between, these stories reflect the authors' passions for both making stories and catching fish. Michael Connelly, Ridley Pearson, John Lescroart, Don Winslow, Melodie Johnson Howe, Victoria Houston, and others all share a mysterious affection for things piscatorial when not busy writing best-selling books.

Hook, Line & Sinister could be a really good audiobook, if the narrators and the plots were
consistent. Series of novellas, 2-3 are really good plot with twist; most of poorly read,
volume continually had to be adjusted, and plots which hardly "reeled me in."

I have enjoyed the "Monk" series by Anne Perry, but the last two books are disappointing. I listened to both on the :FAsT" speed of my MP3 as the narrator was so slow/dreary; too much melodrama, too long, too repetitive, w/out sufficient plot. Hope the author's next Monk installment is improved.

made listening really difficult, so I 'll try another book on Sir Edmund's life.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend an abridged version of the book, but not the audible version. The narrator is just too phony---trying to mimic an English accent--so much less impressive than Davinia Porter.

If you’ve listened to books by Anne Perry before, how does this one compare?

plot is long, convoluted--this book would have been more enjoyable if narration better

What didn’t you like about David Colacci’s performance?

He is obviously not English

Was Funeral in Blue worth the listening time?

Yes
