A captivating story that will help you find your purpose and leadership in life. Although he’s one of the most successful high school basketball coaches in Kentucky’s history, Steve Rocker, for the first time in his life, is falling short of expectations. His players have lost their will to win, their love for their teammates, and their passion to play. Coach Rocker’s motivational methods that have always worked before - and have resulted in his success - are now failing, and he doesn’t know why.

Would you listen to Fearless again? Why?

Absolutely one of the best stories I have heard.

What other book might you compare Fearless to and why?

Fearless ranks right with "Unbreakable" and "Lone Survivor"

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book choked me up (which never happens). It makes me think about my own life and family. It will inspire you and motivate you.

In late October 1846, the last wagon train of that year's westward migration stopped overnight before resuming its arduous climb over the Sierra Nevada Mountains, unaware that a fearsome storm was gathering force. After months of grueling travel, the 81 men, women and children would be trapped for a brutal winter with little food and only primitive shelter. The conclusion is known: by spring of the next year, the Donner Party was synonymous with the most harrowing extremes of human survival.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Want to join the “superhumans”? Luckily you don’t have to run to catch up with them, thanks to McDougall’s and Sanders’ inspiring (and motivating) journey through history, science, physiology, health, entertaining characters and unlikely friendships. Full of incredible characters, amazing athletic achievements, cutting-edge science, and, most of all, pure inspiration, Born to Run is an epic adventure.

Every schoolchild is taught the great turning points in American history, such as Gettysburg, Pearl Harbor, the Kennedy assassination, and 9/11. But other, equally significant events have altered our destiny without being understood---or even widely noticed. Acclaimed conservative historian Larry Schweikart now takes an in-depth look at seven such episodes and reveals the profound ways they have shaped America.

No owner has changed the landscape of sports more than New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner. From the moment he bought the team in 1973 for $10 million, Steinbrenner's monomaniacal pursuit was to restore the most fabled franchise in baseball history to its former glory. Today the New York Yankees are worth more than $1 billion and are once again world champions.

This will be the first book in years that I will not finish. This is not a biography of Steinbrenner. This is a rant by the author. It is choke full of Steinbrenner's horrible communications skills. Every turn is a Steinbrenner rage. Perhaps, that is all Steinbrenner ever did. But, an individual reaches fame & fortune by some means of good decisions. The first 2/3 of this book explains none of that. I am not a Yankees fan. As a matter of fact, I always root against them. I simply like biographies about what made successful people successful. You will not find it here.

Although The Alamo fell in the early morning of March 6, 1836, the death of the Alamo defenders has come to symbolize courage and sacrifice for the cause of liberty. The memories of James Bowie, Davy Crockett, and William B. Travis are as powerful today as when the Texan Army routed Santa Anna to the cry "Remember the Alamo!" This book is more than a tribute to those who fell defending the mission.

I could hardly wait for the CD to begin every time I got in the car. Then my wife did the same when she listened to it. The historical characters and scenes were enhanced that gives otherwise mundane events real life and feeling. I did not feel that historical events were altered with the author’s enhancements. The Alamo felt a bit like listening to a novel. Very enjoyable.

Donny Deutsch has a wonderful story to tell and for the most part does a good job except for the foul language. The crude language was not necessary and takes away from any inspiration that could have been communicated. I am a fan of great people and leaders. Donny's insecurities illustrate that he is not one of them.
