I always imagined Death's final kiss would be cold. It wasn't. Four years later, I can still remember the exact shade of his skin: a blue so pale it looked like moonlight. I dream of his touch. Mostly, I paint the man under the heavy cowl, including those perfect lips that ruined mine for anyone else. I'm obsessed with him. The doctors say he's nothing more than a hallucination caused by a mixture of head trauma and emergency pain medications. Now, something's changed, and my drawings are taking on a life of their own. Death is back. He wants another kiss. And he's not alone.

I really wish I had realized who the narrator was. This woman has the strangest caddence to her narration, super distracting. I bought the audio because I loved the book. Disappointing waste of a credit. Darn.

Derrick "The Love Whisperer" King gives out relationship and sex advice on the radio to everyone, but he’s giving me something a bit more personal. Nobody’s ever talked to me the way he does. Daring, demanding, sexy...and oh, so dirty. Maybe we started this whole thing a little backward, sex first and getting to know each other after. But I'm starting to let my guard down, my untrusting heart beginning to think that maybe fairy tales do come true. Even for me.

Soooooo cheesy. Seriously so cheesy that I can't even finish from the laughing. The female narrator has a very distracting and artificial cadence to her voice. Maybe a decent premise for a story, but I have no idea what the heck to make of this literary masterpiece. I don't think this is actually meant to be a sex comedy, but it does a pretty good impression.

What made the experience of listening to Blood of the Earth the most enjoyable?

Great new character. Good start to a new series. I am very interested in seeing what happens with this character. Faith Hunter's writing is smart, snarky and very real.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Nell is fantastic. Complicated and naive and smart. Great fun to listen to.

Which scene was your favorite?

I think the confrontation with Rick and subsequently the FBI.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not really. Just pure enjoyment.

What did you love best about Storm's Heart?

I wasn't expecting the character focus of this second installment. It was nice to listen to the story unfolding.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Tiago. What a great character. I was expecting the neanderthal thing, but he had some unexpected depths and some pretty hot dialogue.

What does Sophie Eastlake bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Again, the ability to look forward to Miami traffic.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

CHICK FLICK

Any additional comments?

If you use audible for entertainment, this is just the ticket. Thea Harrison writes well and Ms. Eastlake is a great narrator.
