This book was recommended from a reading challenge to explore a new genre. I thoroughly enjoyed it. But it is not enough to say that. The story is powerful and timeless. It is nerve-wracking and inspiring. It brings you to the brink of despair and rescues you. But mostly it reminds you of the incredible endurance (pun intended) of the human spirit. Highly recommend, especially for teenagers. Many life lessons to be had in this story.

Although I feel like the plot was obvious it was one of the most delightful books I have listened too. Just one of those stories about life that make you laugh and cry and laugh again.

J.K. Rowling knows how to write a story and Jim Dale brings it to life. What a superb performance!!!

A wonderful book to transport the mind. My 13 year old is reading this. I thought I'd listen along. We have had some great discussions and have shared in the thrill of the drama.
