The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night.

What made the experience of listening to The Night Circus the most enjoyable?

The way the characters and their interactions weave throughout the story is delightful. Friendship, love, and loss all wonderfully brought to life by Jim Dale.

Author Paul Torday makes his debut with this clever absurdist novel. Fisheries scientist Dr. Alfred Jones is approached by an extravagantly wealthy sheik with a novel plan. To foster goodwill, the sheik would like to introduce salmon fishing to Yemen - the same Yemen that is largely a desert - and politicians think it's a great idea.

I've seen this movie about a dozen times. I love it. I had no idea how it compared to the book. And now that I do know, I'm eager to listen to the book again. At the base of either version is a great story of faith!

The narrators also did a great job with the characters.

It's the week before Christmas, and antiques dealer Weezie Foley is in a frenzy to deck out her shop for the Savannah historical district decorating contest, which she intends to win. Weezie is ready to shoot herself with her glue gun by the time she's done, but the results are stunning. She's certainly one-upped the owners of the trendy shop around the corner, but suddenly things start to go missing from her display and there seems to be an uninvited midnight visitor to her shop.

I enjoy the 'Weezie and BeBe' characters of Mary Kay Andrews. Fun and mischief always seems to find the two.
