The story was ok, but the narration was so annoying! Sorta choppy, halted speaking that totally distracted from the story - made it sound so cheesy. Slow too - I had to speed her up a
notch.

If I had no inkling of what the book was about when I started listening to it. However it didn't take long until I was completely engrossed in it. And the way it was recorded for audio was a work of art. All three narrators were perfect and put me into the story. The special note at the end be the author was a total treat and the perfect ending of this story. Thank you Martha Hall Kelly for writing this book.

This may or may not be a good story. I had to stop in the second chapter as the narrators voice was so annoyingly flat. This was a couple months ago and I forgot and went to take up the story again ( from the beginning) and made it into the second chapter before putting it down. Then I remembered why I couldn't go further. The voice is nice enough but the reading is just plain flat and ruined the storyline. Sorry...

Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.
