In the little city of Flint, Michigan, the good die young, and the people left standing are the grimiest of characters. With reign over the city's drug trade, Benjamin Atkins made sure that his precious daughter, Raven, was secluded from the grit that the city had to offer. But when Raven's young heart gets claimed by Mizan, a stick-up kid in search of a come-up, there's nothing Benjamin can do about losing her to the streets.

Modern life can seem like being lost in a jungle. With distractions and dangers emerging from every direction, it's easy to lose focus. Over time, we lose touch with one of our most powerful, purposeful, God-given attributes - the desire to be fruitful and multiply, what Bishop T. D. Jakes calls our "instinct for increase". Combining historical, cultural, and personal examples with biblical insights, in Instinct Bishop Jakes outlines how to rediscover your natural aptitudes and reclaim the wisdom of your past experiences.

What did you love best about Black Girl Lost?

The love story despite it being about going up in a rough environment. This was kind of love every woman dreams about no matter how twisted it comes.

Any additional comments?

I always heard about Donald Goins books and always wanted to check them out for myself. Despite his personal problems with drug addiction, this man was a great writer and his story still hold a powerful meaning over 40 years later. Love this book. So glad he has been added to audible library. I plan to purchase them all. This book was real life...the good, the bad, and the ugly. But in the end, we are all looking for the same thing in life...true love.

Ok...Eric Jerome Dickey was the author that introduce me to the African-American fiction and I was hooked. I have read everything he has ever published....but this book was not one of his best in my opinion. However, I will support him because I know he's a great author...this one was just, I don't know. I mean the story was good but maybe I was just looking for something more from him.
