For reasons of his own, Stephen Hampton, Lord Summerdale, is determined to learn the truth behind the tangled tale of Helen's ruin. There is nothing he abhors so much as scandal - nothing he prizes so well as discretion - and so he is shocked to find that he cannot help but admire her. But how can she trust a man so steeped in the culture of high society, who conceals so much? And how can he, so devoted to the appearance of propriety, ever love a fallen lady?

First, Nicholas Boulton is my favorite narrator of all time! He is amazing with any book. That said, this story is fabulous. The dialogue is amazing, love Marianne and her great lines! I want to listen to it again just to catch everything. Just love this author, one of my new favorites. Really look forward to finding more books by her.

Had this one for a long time before I listened to it. Not sure why. It was enjoyable, liked Meredith's alter ego and some of the banter between her and her family. Don't remember the names of characters in Nora's books like they did, but it was fun listening to them bring up those story lines. Thought the narrator did a good job overall. Of course this is predictable to some extent since it is a romance. But there were enough surprises to keep in interesting.

I've listened to all in this series so far. Has been awhile since the 4th book. Found myself really liking both main characters in this story. Hannah was surprisingly likable, certainly not what I expected. There were funny moments when I laughed out loud. Loved the interactions with her friend from childhood, the 'shocking' things people thought about Hannah and how she maintained that facade. I liked this narrator better than in the past. I have many books narrated by her. This one she didn't drop her sentence endings as much as others. Thought she did a good job with the different characters. Overall highly recommend this book, this is one of my favorite authors.

This is one of my favorite authors, and I absolutely love this narrator. She can make any book worth listening to. I did like the story, just didn't love the heroine as much as the hero. She kind of got on my nerves after a while. For all the lead up to why she couldn't go back to London, the reason was kind of lame I thought. Did enjoy many of the secondary characters. Anyway, I want to listen to the series and I hope the others are a little better.

First off, if you don't like Christian fiction, you will not like this book. Personally I found it very meaningful and moving. Sadly there are so many girls who are put in this type of life. I only wish more could actually have a story like this. I think the author did a wonderful job of bringing an Old Testament story to life. I will be looking for more by this author. The narrator was good but not great. Only reason I gave performance 4 stars.

This was very enjoyable for me. The premise of the story was intriguing, blending the history with the present. At times a little slow, but still a great listen. The narrator did a wonderful job with all the voices. Yes this is a little like a fairy tale, but has enough twists that is stayed interesting. The historical references to WWII told through the letters were very meaningful, for me at least. This was an old fashioned romance and well worth the listen.

This was a lovely surprise, very funny and great listen. Having read some of the reviews and since it was on sale, gave it a try. It is worth a credit even without the sale. The duke ends up landing in quite a farce, which turns his normal super-structured life upside down. The dialog between the Duke and Astrid was well written. Lots of quirky characters, the great-aunt was one of my favorites. Some of the scenes had me laughing out loud. Narrator did a great job, only complaint was that many of the men's voices were too nasal, seemed to fall back on that voice too often. I highly recommend this book for something different among the typical regency romances.
