Originally written for the pulp magazines of the 1920s and '30s, H. P. Lovecraft's astonishing tales blend elements of horror, science fiction, and cosmic terror that are as powerful today as they were when first published. This tome brings together all of Lovecraft's harrowing stories, including the complete Cthulhu Mythos cycle, just the way they were when first released.

Boisterous, ribald, and ultimately shattering, Ken Kesey's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest has left an indelible mark on the literature of our time. Turning conventional notions of sanity and insanity on their heads, the novel tells the unforgettable story of a mental ward and its inhabitants, especially tyrannical Big Nurse Ratched and Randle Patrick McMurphy, the brawling, fun-loving new inmate who resolves to oppose her.

Sam was just another lazy kid - no direction in life, hanging out at his parents’ house, no girlfriend, listless. His parents gave him choices: move out and work the only kind of job he was ready for, a minimum-wage job, or join the service, or go to a girls’ finishing school. Sam becomes Samantha and goes off to school - a school where the girls are taught how to take care of a man and be the ideal wife.

Alpha Theta Nu has the reputation as biggest the wildest fraternity on campus, so freshman Matt Landon was thrilled to be able to pledge as a legacy. However, as soon as he's accepted, he begins to notice things. His pledge name is Candy and his brothers have pledge names like Barbie and Dollface, they're constantly hazed by subtle forced feminization, and even their pledge shirts are decidedly feminine. Unwittingly, Matt finds himself immersed in the biggest conspiracy on campus.

Yancy Lazarus - mage, bluesman, and demon-souled - is having the worst hangover of his life. He just woke up in a dingy hotel in literal Hell with one eye missing, an arm covered in swirling golden tattoos, and no recollection of the past six months. All he wants is to figure out how he ended up in the Great Below and whether there’s a way home. But getting out of Hell is no easy feat. Yancy is the most wanted man in the infernal city of Pandæmonium, and he’s being hunted by demonic cutthroats for a series of high-profile murders he can’t remember committing.

I've been an avid reader for some time. When I found the 4th book was out I finished it and the 5th was ready for me.

My favorite aspect of this series is the Voice, not just the narrator, though he Is on point, but the voice and flow of dialogue.

The whole tale is linked from absurd happening to vicious beating, wash & repeat.
Each triumph and defeat comes at the reader sideways, always unique enough to be entertaining.
I'll read them all again.

To the Author,
You are rocking it brother, seriously, keep that sh*t up!

Legions of murderous undead, Haitian voodoo, and a 5,000-year-old serpent god. Yeah, 'cause that's exactly what Yancy Lazarus needs in his life: more complications. As if being the Hand of Fate and the newly appointed guardian over one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse wasn't headache enough. All Yancy wants is an easy life on the open road - chock-full of ribs, beer, cigarettes, and smoky bars blaring with gritty blues music - but that just isn't in the cards. Nope, not anymore.

Bluesman/Mage, Yancy, conveys the tale through strong dialogue, both inside Yancys mind and from the lips of the characters.

Through his gruff manner and eye for detail, James A. Hunter depicts his world and its characters with deadpan congruence. Sight, sound, smell, and taste, are explained with ease while sensations and emotions are both shown through crude analogies, witty banter, and decisive action.

Charlie Kevin, the Narrator, matches Yancy's tone to a T. Merging the sick severity of a sadist with cavalier charm, like a pragmatist intent to win a lose-lose scenario.

Warning: You may have a huge, invisible spider living in your skull. This is not a metaphor. You will dismiss this as ridiculous fearmongering. Dismissing things as ridiculous fearmongering is, in fact, the first symptom of parasitic spider infection - the creature secretes a chemical into the brain to stimulate skepticism, in order to prevent you from seeking a cure. That’s just as well, since the “cure” involves learning what a chain saw tastes like. You can’t feel the spider, because it controls your nerve endings.
