A young couple buys a beautiful house by a picturesque lake in the Catskills, looking to escape the bustle of the city to raise their newborn baby. It is a perfect place for a fresh start. Except that nothing is ever as perfect as it seems. As autumn nights close in around their home, they learn that darkness takes many forms. And sometimes that darkness is hungry. New York Times best-selling author Jonathan Maberry delivers an unsettling Audible Original that will give listeners the Halloween creeps all year round.

A wonderful story about a reporter and a disfigured veteran had me laughing and tearing up. The romance between them was a love story that can be told and million times and still never get old. The secondary characters were good some more well-rounded than others. I didn’t want to put it down in the narrator does a wonderful job.

okay so I did win this book but I'm going to give my honest opinion because that's the kind of person I am. It was a good quick read. for being the first in the series I felt a little lost I hadn't read the series before I read her previous series and love them. it was not a copy of any book that I read before it did have some twists and turns some things that I didn't see coming which is hard when you read a lot of romance novels to not see things coming. bottom line would I continually this year yes it was a good read some surprises enough for me to be intrigued or more in this year's although I may have to see what came before this to make sure I am on number 1 and to expand this world a little bit to be not as lost as I was although it is a standalone you don't need to know the people it just seems like you should.

while it does have some good points, overall it's a replay of 50 shades. Which I know it should be but the same scenes replayed, a few added from the past were nice but over just felt lacking. Also the amount of emails each one with a to from date time subject, the actual message then the sign off and each one has a tag line. I believe the is a whole chapter with just back and forth emails I almost thow me phone across the room. I would not listen to this again even if you payed me.

It is a wonderful read with some very funny parts like cow secretions to describe milk. With a very well thought out storyline, it goes over knowing someone is meant for you and still fighting Your desires.

The story is a good love story of having found the love of your life twice. But the narrator was horrible. I felt like she was rushing through the entire thing didn't take a breath like she was trying to rush through the story. And when you lower the speed on your phone it drags her words out but not in a good way so there was no way to slow it down.
