I just finished book 2 and I absolutely love this series. I can't wait for the next one. I was a little hesitant at first, not my genre, but I'm so glad I took the chance. The story was well written and the narrator was awesome! Really can't wait for the next one.

Great series, although I listened to the first 11 books pretty much back to back, then had to wait for the 12th. My memory isn't quite what it used to be and it was tough catching up. Anyway, great series, creative story. Can't wait for the next one.

Diviner Alex Verus finally made one too many enemies on the Council of Mages, and now one of them is angry enough to have him executed. Fighting for his life is nothing new, but this kill order also calls for the death of Alex's dependents - and there's no way that he'll let Luna, Anne, and Vari take the heat. With only a week before he's history, Alex will have to figure out how to disassociate himself from his friends, scrounge up allies on the council, and hopefully keep his head attached to his body.

Would you consider the audio edition of Burned to be better than the print version?

Didn't read the print, but can't imagine it would be better. Gildart Jackson does for Alex what James Marsters does for Dresden. I thought no one could ever draw me in as much as Dresden, but Alex is just as stirring.

Which scene was your favorite?

Too many to count, this one was more emotional than the others.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both. I sat there parked in my driveway at the end not wanting it to end. Thinking "when is the next one coming out?" Wishing that there would be more, like at the end of Marvel movies...Very few series these day really have me feeling this bereft at the end of each book, wanting for the next one.

Any additional comments?

This series make me glad that I have a 3+ hour daily commute.
