The post-apocalyptic world isn't that bad. Sure, there are mutants. But, for the people of New Hope, daily life isn't so much a struggle of finding food or medicine as it is trying to find a new shortstop for their kickball team. This makes it difficult for a post-apocalyptic warrior to find work. Thankfully, an army full of killers is making its way to the peaceful town and plans to raze it to the ground. Only a fully trained post-apocalyptic nomadic warrior can stop them.

I loved this book! it was not only fun but told a compelling story. the few twist were fun and not eye rolling even when poking fun at the tropes of the Post apocalyptic style. if you like some light humor in your end of the world check it out

Professional heroes kill and loot deadly monsters every day, but Gorm Ingerson's latest quest will be anything but business as usual. The adventuring industry drives the economy of Arth, a world much like our own but with more magic and fewer vowels. Monsters' hoards are claimed, bought by corporate interests, and sold off to plunder funds long before the Heroes' Guild actually kills the beasts. Of course, that's a terrible arrangement for the Shadowkin; orcs, goblins, kobolds, and their ilk must apply for to become Noncombatant Paper Carriers to avoid being killed and looted by heroes.

The year is 2108, and the North American Commonwealth is bursting at the seams. For welfare rats like Andrew Grayson, there are only two ways out of the crime-ridden and filthy welfare tenements, where you’re restricted to 2,000 calories of badly flavored soy every day. You can hope to win the lottery and draw a ticket on a colony ship settling off-world, or you can join the service. With the colony lottery a pipe dream, Andrew chooses to enlist in the armed forces for a shot at real food, a retirement bonus, and maybe a ticket off Earth.

What made the experience of listening to Terms of Enlistment the most enjoyable?

Luke Daniels is always awesome. the story is also good just enough details to satisfy with out so much military/technical jargon to be annoying. i like the characters and found them full of life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love Sgt Fallon because she is what every Non-Com is supposed to be and what every grunt hopes to be when they grow up.

What does Luke Daniels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Luke Daniels is one of my favorite narrators. he always brings the characters to life and fills in what might be missed if you just skimmed the book.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

wait for it.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this book. it may not be what the high and mighty SF fans want but its what I like.

The British Darwinists employ fabricated animals as their weaponry. The Leviathan is a living airship, the most formidable airbeast in the skies of Europe.
