Sarah Anderson has found her dream job: Clerk of Court for the District of Columbia Night Court. Dream job, that is, until she’s attacked in the open courtroom by a vampire defendant. And until she’s forced to take self-defense lessons from her boss, the enigmatic vampire James Morton. And until she learns that she can’t share the truth about any of that with her best friend, Allison Ward – even over delectable cupcakes from the Cake Walk bakery.

I really enjoy Mindy Klaskys writing. Her stories are light and generally fun, but I am pleading, PLEASE, find a different narrator! Emma Galvin has a pleasant voice and I would find her portrayal of these characters if she only knew the meaning of punctuation! She pauses where she shouldn't so often that I find it terribly distracting. As much as I enjoy listening to books I'm afraid that any other Klasky books I purchase will have to be in print not on audible!

Librarian-witch Jane Madison has been invited to join the prestigious Washington Coven - a necessary step, if she’s going to hold onto her feline familiar, her beloved arcane books, and her sexy warder, David Montrose. As the Coven’s tests become more challenging, though, Jane must decide if she can trust her new witchy friend, Haylee. And then there’s that handsome Brit, Graeme Henderson, who is proving to be most distracting...Jane is about to be tested in ways she’s never imagined - and, pass or fail, nothing will ever be the same!

What didn’t you like about Emma Galvin’s performance?

She pauses wher she shouldn't and doesn't where she should. It makes the narrative choppy and gets very distracting.

Jane Madison has a problem. Or two. Or three. She’s unhappily working as a librarian. She has a crush on her oblivious Imaginary Boyfriend. And she just learned she won’t receive a well-deserved raise; instead, she can live for free in a cottage on the library grounds. When Jane settles into her new home, she discovers a hidden chamber lined with ancient books about witchcraft. Her first spell awakens a feline familiar. Her second makes her irresistible to men. Those magical workings attract a sexy magical warder, and Jane’s life is quickly turned upside down.

Any additional comments?

I love the characters and story. Too bad Emma Galvin can't read with proper punctuation. She kills the story with pauses where they shouldn't be!
