Technical knowledge alone isn't enough - increase your software development income by leveling up your soft skills Early in his software developer career, John Sonmez discovered that technical knowledge alone isn't enough to break through to the next income level - developers need "soft skills" like the ability to learn new technologies just in time, communicate clearly with management and consulting clients, negotiate a fair hourly rate, and unite teammates and coworkers in working toward a common goal.

This book was AMAZING! It’s definitely worth multiple listens, even as long as it is. There’s so much valuable information in this and the author did an excellent job reading the content and he had a very natural flow with how he read! I made listening to this audiobook a part of my daily commute to work and it was one of the best decisions ever! A great way to start my day with motivation and information to use in my chosen career field. This is now one of my favorite books ever! Stop reading this review and buy a copy you will NOT regret it!! :)

You live in your dream house, but there's no mortgage. No alarm clock, no boss, no bills. No claims on the day's time other than what you choose. It is making more money before breakfast than you made for an entire week at your last job. It is a crazy expensive car parked in your garage, a victorious symbol that your dreams no longer sleep in fantasies, but are awake with reality.

Honestly, I’ve read a lot of similar books and have listen to and followed a lot of these financial gurus out there. However MJ is by far the most honest, straightforward, and practical out of any of them! I’ve learned so much from this book and I am definitely inspired by it. I highly recommend this read to anyone looking to really make a significant change in their business and life. No fluff. No vague rhetoric. No gimmicks. I typically don’t listen to many audiobooks more than once, but I can definitely see myself doing so with this one because there is so much to learn and taken from this offer. I also definitely recommend his other book too!

Since you were old enough to hold a job, you've been hoodwinked to believe that wealth can be created by blindly trusting in the uncontrollable and unpredictable markets: the housing market, the stock market, and the job market. I call this soul-sucking, dream-stealing dogma "The Slowlane" - an impotent financial gamble that dubiously promises wealth in a wheelchair. For those who don't want a lifetime subscription to "settle-for-less", there is an alternative.

He is so honest and very real. The advice and info in this book is so very valuable because it’s not filled with fluff, pipe dreams and clichés like a few other books like this one are. He makes so much sense! I’m inspired to take action and even my confidence has increased! You will feel empowered by this book. I wasn’t expecting to be so greatly affected by his words, but I AM!! I’m so glad I took the time to listen. I’m starting his other book now!!

Like a deep, loving conversation with a great friend! I love that she read this because she has a very soothing, articulate voice. She tells her story so well and I could really relate to some of her experiences. I highly recommend this book, especially for women of color. However, I think anyone would learn and be inspired by her story!

This book has changed me! As I was listening to it and applying the ideas she presented, I started finding a greater sense of confidence in myself, feeling less ashamed of being different and feeling, well, more powerful! I highly recommend this book to any woman who feels unloved, lost or unhappy in anyway. Mama Gena read well, and I’m glad she was the one to narrate. I don’t think this would have been so powerful had she not! It was like getting advice from a good, caring friend. She’s a wise woman who will empower you with her words and ideas. I have a deeper respect for myself and other women. She made me realize that I could really use for a much better circle of female friends, no, sister Goddesses. I signed up for her weekend program in NYC and I can’t wait! Whether you can get to an event or not, I highly recommend this book that forces you to dig deep and find your own power within. Blessings! :)

I came across this author after watching his TED talk, which I highly recommend for you to watch! I truly enjoyed listening to this book! Forget all those other self-help books. I've read quite a few and this one is, by far, my favorite! He offers helpful, realistic advice and addresses various issues from different points of view and encourages you to do the same. I can easily apply the advice given in his book to different aspects of my life and already notice a difference. I'm now inspired to stand up for myself against fake "friends" and work on my self-esteem and confidence so that I don't have to be stuck doing work I don't enjoy and improve and build my skills that will allow me to get a better job and/or start my own business.
