Become Assertive and Get What you Want audiobook cover art

The title does not match the content

2 out of 5 stars

Reviewed: 10-17-10

While I enjoyed listening to this book the title does not match its content. It is more of an advisory book on finding your God given purpose in life and going for it.Time management etc..There is vey little if any talk on becoming assertive.I bought the audio book because of the title but did not get to hear much about becoming assertive. The Title is misleading and should be changed to match its content.

Take Command audiobook cover art

3 out of 5 stars

I liked the ten principles of leadership.Duty, Impeccability, Passion, Perserverance, Planning, Teamwork, Loyalty, Flexibility, Selfless Service and Integrity. I plan to use these principle's to be a good leader. The only problem I had with the book was that it sounded to be more of an autobiography of Kelly Perdew. There were too many stories included about successful individuals. Also one needs to have watched the Apprentice to appreciate it.The military was really praised maybe mentioned too much.Kellys honesty about his performance at the Apprenctice impressed me.I had wondered why during his last task he was stuck on his computer and did not seem moved with what was going on around him.I agree with him that it is important for a leader to know how to take control of his emotions and stay calm in the midst of a storm. This book can also be used to adverstise the benefits of joining the military!!
Overall though it was a very good book on how to be a good leader.I would recommend it to all.

I have listened to the audio and was dissapointed. The principals discussed of goodness etc are what we all know. There was nothing new or additional added to what we know to be good.I had hoped that the book would give examples of how to critise or correct one.THERE IS NOTHING NEW I LEARNED FROM THE BOOK.

This is another great inspired book by Joyce.I have listened to this audio and am happily surprised at how God does speak to us in our everyday life. The main theme of the book is that you obey his greatest command and do what is right then you shall hear him speak in your everyday life. This book is a must read for all who want to have a personal relationship with God.Am looking forward to reading more of Joyces books.
