Experience all the feels in this unforgettable second-chance standalone romance from number-one New York Times best-seller Lauren Blakely! I didn't break her heart, and she didn't break mine - we broke each other's. I never stopped loving her, but time and distance played its cruel role in ripping us apart three years ago when she moved halfway around the world. Now after all those endless miles away, she's returned...but I'm not the guy I was before.

So I read this book (as I often do) before listening to the audio. I have to start by saying that I'm a crier. I've been known to cry tears of joy, tears of sadness, even tears of frustration (though it takes a lot to get me to that point). So when I saw the blurb for Unbreak My Heart I knew I was going to need tissues. This book was everything I could have asked for and more. fore listening. Reading this book was an emotional experience, but HEARING it performed was perfection.

I had a high bar for this audio. I really rated the book 10 stars (it deserves every single one of them) so the audio performance had a lot to live up to-and it didn't disappoint.

Joe Arden truly nailed this portrayal. He had such emotional depth throughout the book. I could hear Andrew's struggles, his joys, his tears-all of it in Joe's voice. I was moved to tears over and over listening to him give this character life. It was achingly perfect. I just wanted to crawl through my headphones and hug him. This book solidified my adoration of Joe.

I have such a girl crush on Erin Mallon. I love how she slips into a performance and just owns it. I'm never disappointed in her and she added to this book quite nicely.

The story here is simply beautiful. I felt transported and rooted at the same time. I was with Andrew every step of his journey. The supporting characters here really helped him grow and it was just so lovely. There were so many moments that moved me, and I loved, loved, loved learning things right along with Andrew-I won't say more because I don't want to spoil anything.

This book is worthy of ten stars to me, five just isn't enough. I was gripped from the start and felt every emotion right along with these characters. Such a beautiful telling of love, healing and hope. I absolutely highly recommend this narration.

Sweet, nerdy, lovable Keaton. She's my best friend and has been for years. Sure she likes numbers and math, and thinks doing other people's taxes is fun. And I like...none of that stuff. She reads novels I'll never understand, and yet we just click. There's no one I'd rather share breakfast burritos with or binge watch hours of Netflix with. She's my person. And so when she takes off her glasses and asks me to help her improve her skills in the bedroom, I barely have to think about it. Of course I'll help her. There's no one better for the job. But what happens when she's ready to take her new-found confidence and move on?

Friends to lovers is one of my all time favorite tropes. I love the idea of two people who have known each other in one aspect realizing they just might work out in other aspects, too. This trope can be hard to pull off in my opinion; sometimes it can feel rushed or forced. Love Machine definitely didn't feel that way. I loved this sexy, funny and realistic tale of Keaton and Slate.

Keaton is someone I could absolutely, 100%, without a doubt relate to. She is funny, genuine and smart. I could see myself hanging out with her at a party and just having a great time. I liked her sense of self-awareness as well; she wasn't shy about who she was and what she needed.

Slate. Holy hot, Slate. I loved him from start to finish. He's smart, sexy and fun. He's exactly what Keaton needs, even if they don't really recognize that at first. I was absolutely captivated with him and couldn't have stopped falling for him if I tried.

The connection between these two was evident from the start. I loved seeing how their relationship blossomed; it felt incredibly authentic. I laughed along with them and I swooned, too. I enjoyed their relationship both in the bedroom and out. I think they worked together emotionally and physically really well.

The narrators in this book brought the book to life even more to me. Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are just a dream team. They made Slate and Keaton even more relatable. They had me laughing and swooning throughout the entire listen. I've said Sebastian York could read the phone book out loud and I'd love it, but this is one of my favorite performances of his.

Friends to lovers isn't a new trope. But this book felt new to me. The plot worked, the writing flowed well. The supporting cast of characters added some extra fun to this book and helped our hero and heroine when they needed it.

This book was fun, sexy and totally believable. I was hooked from the beginning and read it in one sitting with a smile on my face. Kendall Ryan is one of my favorite authors and books like this remind me why that is. I adored this book and would absolutely recommend it.

And the more I drank, the more I wanted to do something reckless to celebrate. By reckless, I meant the sexy and alluring man dressed in a business suit standing near the bar.

I'm a big fan of single dad romances, it's one of my favorite tropes. I adore Kendall Ryan so when this book blurb came out and it combined my love of single dads and her writing? It was a no brainer that I'd enjoy this book.

I liked Kate. I thought she has fun, kind and someone I'd hang out with. Would we be besties? Probably not but she's the kind of woman I'd keep in my social circle. I liked how she grew in the book, I thought it was very authentic and believable.

Hunter? Holy hot dad. He was smart, strong, funny and sexy. I liked how he didn't apologize for who he was. A single dad looking for love. Not a mom for his daughter, but love for himself.

These two had instant chemistry. I believed in that. Their sexy times were hot and I thought my kindle would melt more than once. Outside of the bedroom though I didn't believe in them right away but they proved me wrong.

I adored Maddie. She was exactly like a typical four year old and she pulled no punches. She definitely had me laughing.

I enjoyed the performance of this book. I thought the plot was fun and the narrators really sold it. I fell in love with Hunter and Maddie right along with Kate. The supporting characters were fun as well without overshadowing our main couple. I enjoyed this book overall and would recommend it.

We met in a trapped elevator. Emmett was on his way to work, sophisticated and handsome in his tailored suit and tie. I was on my way to the sperm bank. Awkward, right? At 35, my life hadn't taken the path I thought it would and I was tired of waiting - I wanted a baby. And I was ready to take matters into my own hands to make it happen. After our ill-fated elevator encounter, Emmett insisted on taking me to dinner - he also insisted on something else - that I ditch my plan involving a turkey baster and let him do the job. He would be my baby daddy.

Kendall Ryan is a one click author for me. I always enjoy her stories and know they'll leave me wanting more. Baby Daddy took me a minute to get into-simply because some parts were a little too relatable for me, but once I reminded myself it was a book I was able to just enjoy it.

Jenna and Emmett meet in a way that had me chuckling. There's attraction there but Jenna is a woman on a mission for the one thing Emmett wants no part of. I can understand that focus, that drive on Jenna's part. I can admire it. I understood where she was coming from.

That being said, I understood Emmett as well. He was a good book boyfriend-even though he never intended to be one. I enjoyed watching him grow throughout this book.

As I said, the chemistry is there. The sexy times were sexy, but there was more to this book than just that. These characters had me laughing and they had me sighing others. I thought their journey together was unique and really well written.

Now, as for the story...this isn't my first baby book I've read this year. This is a popular trope right now but Kendall Ryan has a knack for making things unique and fresh. I enjoyed the writing in this book-parts of it just had me cracking up. I think the pacing worked as well. I truly enjoyed this book and would recommend it.

The performances from Sebastian York and Virginia Rose actually made me enjoy the book even more than when I had initially read it. They hit these characters so perfectly! This is a great listen.

It's no secret that I adore Lauren Blakely. Her writing never ceases to amaze me but Wanderlust? It just blew me away. The story is so incredibly full of love and passion-both between characters and life in general- that I was moved to tears more than once. This is a book that I will come back to over and over again.

I quite simply adored Joy and Griffin. I was grinning from the moment the book began. I don't know if there has ever been a character name more suited to a character than Joy. She brings happiness and laughter, she's quick and funny and so incredibly brave. She doesn't always feel it, but she takes many leaps of faith that had me applauding her. I would absolutely love to visit her in Paris and sit down for a cup of hot chocolate, or champagne on her rooftop.

Griffin? Well, hello swoon. He is absolutely, hands down, one of my all time book boyfriends. He nudged some pretty impressive ones out of the way to grab his spot, but he's worth it. He is such a sweetheart and so romantic. But there's a vulnerability to him that more than once I found myself just wanting to reach through the book and hold him. I'm sure Joy wouldn't mind. He's so sexy as well-obviously.

These two have intense chemistry. But their connection is so much more than physical. They understand each other. Their sexy times are incredibly sexy, but their time spent exploring the city? Learning about one another? Just magical.

The narration of this book brought it to life for me. Normally, I read a book and then get the audio to keep me company while I work. That being said, I am glad this one released in audio first. Hearing these narrators tell this story added a whole other level of richness to an already rich story. I loved hearing the descriptions of people and places. I truly felt I was there in Paris with them, experiencing this story. I don't know that my imagination would have done these characters and this setting justice. But Grace Grant and Richard Armitage took me on the best audio journey ever.

There's a theme of time and moments in this book, and that really hit home for me. It connected me to these characters as I could understand exactly what they meant. Listening to some of the lines made me hit pause and reflect on what the characters were saying. I was moved to tears-again, more than once. This story was incredibly beautiful and lush. I'm already listening again as I write this because I just can't get enough. The story and narration were perfection. If I could give this more than five stars I would. I adored it and cannot recommend it highly enough.

The first time we met was at a party. Your ex arrived to show off the person he'd left you for last month, and you asked me to pretend to be your date. I was more than happy to help. You were attractive, smart and witty--and that kiss we shared? It left me wanting you for days. The second time we met was in my office on campus where we were both surprised to discover you were the new master’s degree student in poetry that I would be working with. You promised to be professional. I did no such thing. The late nights and intense study sessions spent alongside you majorly throw me off my game. I want you, and I fight with myself daily over this fact. I know I'm crass, that my sexual innuendos and dirty mouth annoy you, but I live for those two bright spots of color in your cheeks. If that's the only reaction I can get out of you, I'll gladly take it. You hate Mondays so every Monday I slip an anonymous poem into your bag and your smile gets me through the week. I think I'm falling for you, and I know it's wrong. I know that I'm only supposed to be the adviser to your program and nothing more, but here's the thing. I think you're falling for me too.

I have to say this book was kind of a perfect storm for me. I love Kendall Ryan, I love Sebastian York and I just adore Andi Arndt. This was a unique spin on a forbidden love trope and I just loved it.

Zach is such a dreamy hero and hearing Sebastian narrate him just brought him to life for me. Poppy? Andi nailed her spunky, yet hesitant, self. This is a book that once I started listening I just didn't want to stop. I will absolutely listen to this one again!

Poppy is so much more than initially meets the eye. She's smart, funny, protective and caring. She's guarded-for reasons I won't spoil-but I really liked seeing that part of her. I understood her reasons for acting the way she did (most of the time) and her actions and reactions were incredibly authentic and believable. I truly enjoyed Poppy's journey.

Zach? Omg, hello swoon. This man is easily one of my favorite Kendall Ryan book boyfriends. He's so quick witted, so smart. I was drooling the second he rolled up his shirtsleeves...which was very early on in the book. The words that flowed from this character were pure poetry and just so deliciously sweet-and other times so sexy. His brand of dirty talk was one I could definitely be on board with. I loved his sense of self. I loved how he cared for, and about, Poppy. Seriously, I just loved everything about him.

These two together have such a fun meet cute that you can't help but smile. There were moments between them that had me chuckling, more than a few that had me sighing, and some that had me fanning myself. The progression of their relationship happened in a completely logical way to me. It worked for them. These two have just such natural chemistry and oh, the fireworks they have in the bedroom-seriously, have a fan ready ;) you'll thank me later.

The supporting characters in this book were an absolute blast! Zach's mom might be my favorite book parent, ever. She had me cracking up. Poppy's neighbors were a treat as well; I would love to see these characters again! That being said, they didn't overwhelm Zach and Poppy by any means, they just added a little extra icing on the cake, so to speak.

I absolutely adored the audio of The Only One. I truly feel that Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt portrayed these characters incredibly well. Zachary was dreamy and sexy as Gabriel and Andi-well I honestly feel she can do no wrong, and she was a fantastic Penny. These two told the story perfectly; it was a very smooth read that I didn't want to end.

As for the story...well...

Lauren Blakely delivers another deliciously sweet and decadently sexy second-chance romance with The Only One. If you’re a fan of her work, you’ll recognize our main characters from books such as Well Hung and The Sexy One. If this is your first exposure to Lauren Blakely’s writing don’t worry-this is a standalone novella for sure...but I guarantee you’ll want to read more of her work after this.

The Only One is the story of Penny, our confident heroine who runs Little Friends, and Gabriel, a sexy celebrity chef with a new restaurant in NYC. The two had met ten years earlier in Barcelona and had a whirlwind romance, promising to meet again in New York one week after Penny leaves. Through a twist of fate the two aren’t reunited until years later, and while Penny has mentally prepared herself to see Gabriel again, she isn’t prepared for the fact that he does not seem to immediately recognize her.

I fell hard for Gabriel right along with Penny. A man who can cook, has an accent AND is sexy? Sign me up, please! I loved that on some primal level he did recognize Penny-even when she denied knowing him at first. Watching him rediscover her and fall for her all over again was a complete joy. I’d like to say he can take me dancing or cook me paella anytime, anytime at all.

I adore how this author portrays her heroines. I inevitably want to be friends with them, and Penny is no different. I would love to go have a purple snow globe with her (ok, and Gabriel ;) ) or walk through Central Park with her and Shortcake. She’s strong on her own and I just love that.

This novella really hit the spot for me. Full of romance, sweet moments to make me swoon and steamy sections, The Only One left me smiling and sighing, exactly what I look for in a Lauren Blakely book. I highly recommend this novella and can’t wait to see what is in store next from this author!

Which character – as performed by Sebastian York – was your favorite?

Max was my favorite character performed by Sebastian York :)

Any additional comments?

Lauren Blakely has done it again. She has crafted a book so fun, so flirty, so sexy, and so absolutely perfect that it I *had* to devour it in just one sitting. Buckle up tight, readers, and prepare to go on one hell of an amazing ride with Max and Henley.

Max, oh my Max. He is such a deliciously sexy hero. There is a little extra fierceness to him that I really, truly enjoyed. I loved watching him fight his attraction to Henley so hard-only to lose the battle so spectacularly. He's intensely passionate about his work and about his life in general. He works hard, he plays hard and watching him try to balance that with having feelings for Henley had me on the edge of my seat. Seeing this "guy's guy" maneuver his way through the twists and turns of falling in love? Priceless.

Henley Rose is positively perfect. She's tough, yet sweet. Strong, but vulnerable at the same time. I appreciated how she hustled to make her own name for herself in a business that is clearly male dominated. I loved that she could go toe to toe with Max and hold her own-I love seeing strong female characters and nobody writes strong and sweet heroines like this author can. The way we get to see what Henley is thinking is unique and fun as well.

The tension between Max and Henley had been idling for years while they were apart, humming below the surface, just waiting for one of them to finally hit the gas and go for it. Their playful banter, their game of innuendo had me torn between wanting them to finally be together and drawing out the tension even more. I must say that their first kiss was quite possibly the hottest, sexiest first kiss I've read....and the rest of their sexy times live up to that first kiss.

The pace of this book is perfect. The writing is sharp, witty and at times perfectly dirty. There was a really fun twist in this book that had me laughing as well-but I'll let you figure that out when you read it. However, what this author does so incredibly well here (and in all of her books) is showcase the realness of a relationship. It's not all sex, all the time-not even in the honeymoon stage of the relationship. It's taking the time to take care of the person you love-whether that means spending time soaking in a claw foot tub or taking dance lessons together. It's making mistakes and learning from them and choosing to move past things instead of dwelling on them.

This is a standalone book but it does have moments where other characters from previous books make an appearance. I personally love, love, love when the author does this. (You definitely don't need to have read the other books to understand who these characters are or anything...but I do recommend them all) Seeing Chase and Josie again made perfect sense since Chase is Max's brother but I was delighted to see other favorites as well-Nick, Harper, Natalie, Wyatt and Charlotte and Spencer. I couldn't have wiped the smile off my face when they reappeared if I wanted to-and I really, really didn't want to. This also gives us an opportunity to meet some future feature characters as well which is great.

Joy Ride is an absolutely perfectly crafted book. Max Summers and Henley Rose are royalty in the custom car business but it's Lauren Blakely who is the Queen of hot, sexy, funny and flirty writers. This book proves again why she's a one click author for me. If I could rate this book higher than 5 stars I absolutely would.

Would you listen to The Hot One again? Why?

I have yet to find a Lauren Blakely book that I haven't wanted to devour in one sitting! The moment The Hot One hit my kindle everything else on my TBR list took a backseat and I dove in to Tyler and Delaney's story. This sexy, swoony, second chance romance was definitely worth my red eyes at work the next day.

The Hot One is a sexy standalone giving us the story of Tyler Nichols, hot shot entertainment lawyer to the stars and Delaney Stewart, a massage therapist in NYC. The two cross paths randomly one morning after not seeing each other for years and one facebook message later the spark between them cautiously ignites again.

I can't lie-I have a thing for Lauren Blakely's male characters. They're in another category of book boyfriends for me. So I knew I was going to love Tyler but I didn't know I was going to LOVE Tyler. He's definitely hot, knows how to talk a good game and is determined to not blow this second chance he's been given with Delaney. He's impulsive and at times had me shaking my head and face palming BUT that's who he is. His intentions are good even when he flubs them. Seeing him interact with his niece had me grinning and watching him work his way back into Delaney's life had me swooning.

Delaney took me by surprise. I'm used to the witty, sassy and strong heroines from this author but Delaney had a bit of something else, too. She had a vulnerability that I wasn't expecting but understood and empathized with. I feel like she grew so much personally throughout this book that I wanted to cheer for her. Yes, she had the sassy comebacks and was flirty but once she stopped using that as a cover and a way to deflect we got to see the real Delaney. For the record, I would love to join her pack of friends.

The spark between these two was insanely hot. I don't know how Delaney kept her hands off of him for as long as she did. Part of the fun of this second chance book was that they already knew what the other liked so they had a base to start from-as evidenced by a certain scene by some mailboxes... Then discovering what else they'd learned they liked over the years? Just fun, fun, fun.

While this book is a standalone I have to say that I loved getting to see glimpses into former characters of Ms. Blakely's. If you've read her work (and if you haven't, trust me, you want to start NOW), you'll recognize some other characters such as Clay, Simon, Penny and Gabriel to name a few. There's subtle little nods to other books as well-bars that are frequented, stores that are gone to etc. Those are just little bonuses that make me smile and remember prior characters. But if you haven't read anything else from Lauren Blakely you'll still LOVE The Hot One and not feel like you're coming into a series in the middle of it or anything. It truly is a standalone.

Trust me when I say you're going to want to one click this book. This amazing second chance romance was the perfect blend of sexy and sweet. I highly recommend this book.

Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life.
