One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennett, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

In this Audible Exclusive production, Academy Award® nominee Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) narrates one of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Sense and Sensibility. In this timeless tale of misguided romance and heartbreak, two teenage heroines must overcome the pitfalls of Georgian England’s high society in order to achieve the love and happiness they seek. The admiration that Pike has for Austen’s work is shown clearly through this passionate delivery of Austen’s first published novel.

5* This is a sweet love story between a husband and wife, but you're not really meant to know that until the end. This is my 3rd read, and as a mom of two kids, I understand and enjoy the story even more. I will admit, after ready it the first time, this was my review "4.5* This was a nice story that kept me interested. However, if I hadn't have guessed the twist at the end from other reviews (she has the "affair" with her husband, Lord James Sherwood) I don't think I would have finished it. I would have detested the heroine, Julia. As it was, I think for the time period it was believable. There were times I wanted to yell, "It's okay to love your husband and let others know you do!" but again, for the time, everything was believable. Also, the fact that the couple already had a child, yet Julia didn't really know passion made me think less of her husband, but he does finally redeem himself with their affair in London. If it weren't for those two minor issues I would have given it 5 stars. I know though, that if those issues weren't there then the whole plot of the book couldn't have even happened, but it did keep me from absolutely loving the characters and the book as a whole...whether or not that really make sense or is fair to the author." Again, after having two kids and being married 11 years, I understand and love this story even more.

The narrator was amazing! The reason for 1/2 star less is because I would have preferred just one moment of misunderstanding between them...his reaction to their night at the club and her misunderstanding was enough. It was unnecessary to have another misunderstanding when the bet came out. Imo the author should have left out the night after the club one and kept the bet. Both misunderstandings were shortlived and highly believable for a "wallflower" of ten years to have. Regardless of my opinion, which I'm sure many will disagree with, I throughly enjoyed the book and will reread it many times in the future.

Narrator was decent. had a sarcastic quality though.

it really had nothing to do with Christmas except for mention of Christmas decorations, but it was a sweet story. A wedding party goes on a week trip before the wedding and ends up being stuck there. Sean is the best man and the B&B owner is the "one who got away" when he was 16. I gave it three stars because it was just okay (didn't love it, didn't hate it), I'll probably reread it in the future though.

Lexi Anderson is an up-and-coming, Martha Stewart-type TV hostess whose two kids love the Jared Strong adventure novels, which happen to be written by their new neighbor, Kyle Miller. For the first time in his writing career, Kyle has writer's block - until he sees the snowman on his lawn and realizes it's the perfect solution to his plot problem. He digs in and discovers two things: one, his villain's weapon will fit inside a snowman's body, and two, this particular snowman was supposed to be the backdrop for Lexi's next show.

Adam Rutledge, Viscount d'Arque, really rather loathes Christmas. The banal cheerfulness. The asinine party games. And, worst of all, the obligatory trip to the countryside. His grandmother, however, loves the holiday - and Adam loves his grandmother, so he'll brave the fiercest snowstorm to please her. But when their carriage wheel snaps, they're forced to seek shelter at the home of the most maddening, infuriating, and utterly beguiling woman he's ever met.

The narrator got a bit quiet, slow, and breathy during the love scenes...this seemed unnecessary, but it's just her style I guess.

I liked that there wasn't really a big unnecessary misunderstanding, but it is more drama and less romantic comedy. Decent for a short Christmas read. I'll reread it again next year.

Snowed in on Christmas Eve in her remote Maine cottage, Lisette Quentin was grateful for the peaceful and quiet break from her hectic life. It was just what she needed, but what she wanted was another matter. There was only thing on her Christmas wish list, a sexy hunk with a heart of gold who was crazy about her and knew how to satisfy her. Too much to hope for, she knew. Once you get past the narrator reading the whole thing like a s** phone operator, it's a great story for what it is. She did a good job with the different voices, but when she was reading everything else, it was total "operator" voice lol. Like Insaid, the story is great for what it is: a stripped-down story with just the fun parts. It's meant to be something you can read quickly, not a great literary work. It's a perfectly cheesy Christmas love story...I could see the Hallmark channel making it into a movie (maybe with some naughty parts removed lol)
