Well rounded, sometimes political, story that is set around a radio station dynamic. Love the characters! Could visualize the story really well. I had a hard time with the narrator. The cadence of the narrations was stilted or clipped about 90% of the time. Her tone is great and I could visualize the characters, but had a hard time with the clipped words. Will be listening to more from Jennifer Crusie! Thanks for the Story!

This is a wonderful series of a family that may be rich but has hardships just like anyone. It was romantic, steamy at times, but the best was the interwoven storytelling. I will miss this family. I was sad to see I was at the end of the series.

Thank you Kristen Proby and all your audible storytellers for the terrific stories!

Well written. However this Wisconsinite has to let you know that Manitowoc and Brat we're pronounced incorrectly. Also it was hard to tell where this place is ... Wausau and Manitowoc are hours apart. But the storyline was heartwarming and so something I could imagine happening in my fine state. Including a young man wanting to escape a small town life, only to realize that it was a great place to raise kids, especially in the summer. Since Spotted Cow is a WI favorite beer, I have to ask if there really is a Spotted Cow bar in eastern WI? I will definitely be reading (or listening to) more books by Fiona Lowe in the near future!

What did you like best about Cocky Bastard? What did you like least?

Story line is a great idea, an I know I would have liked it reading it myself. First part reading was good, a few audio issues but the narrator was really good. Second half was poor. The narrator was too enthusiastic and loud. No dimension to his storytelling.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Aubry was my favorite character...(and Mutton). She was an uptight lawyer that was stuck in a shell of her parents making and the "chance" meeting with Chance really showed her what her life could have been like.

How could the performance have been better?

I thought through out that there were technical gliches...sentences repeated and dead air that shouldn't have been there.

The first half with Michelle narrating was good. A little too excited at times but I really got a feeling for the characters. She did a great job.

Second half Aaron's narration..I almost quit listening and started reading it. But powered through. Love the accent but his voice dynamic did not fit this story line. Sorry Aaron!
I felt like you were mocking the story.

Did Cocky Bastard inspire you to do anything?

I understood Aubry feeling like she wasn't where she should be in here life. But I am not in a position to make the changes...Moving to a new town and starting over sounds wonderful.

What a great story of dysfunctional families, loss, heartbreak and a ranch. The Ranch that starts out as a hardship but brings those who need love, friendship and home a place to land.
