I got the second issue first, and loved it. When I downloaded this I was very excited. When I got to the first duplicate story I skipped it with a shrug. The second annoyed me. When the final story was also in the volume I had listened to it made sure that I wouldn’t waste money or credits on any more of these. It bums me out, because the stories are fantastic. The repeats were at least a few hours that I skipped.

This narrator wasn't suited to this story. Very hard to get into the story when it is so jarring, as well as many mispronounced words.

Women write horror and have written it since before Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein. This anthology highlights the fact that women write great horror and kills the fallacy that they aren't in some way up to standard. They are. Hear stories by Elizabeth Massie, Nina Kiriki Hoffman, Lucy Taylor, and a plethora of other great writers as they work on your nerves, get inside your head, and bang out some of the scariest tales written today. Lock the door and windows, put on a light, and remember, it's not real.

I really enjoyed this collection. It was very interesting to listen to macabre stories that were all written by women. I definitely found many of these to be more horrifying and lingering than much gorier stories. The narrator has an interesting voice and inflections that I was not too sure about at first, but he definitely grew on me and added greatly to the stories.

Monsters lurk among us. Cannibals. Werewolves. Artificial-Intelligence. The vengeful dead. Some want to harm us. Some, to help. Others seek to enslave us. Whatever their motives, we can't ignore them any longer. They are in our businesses. Our homes. They are our neighbors and families. They are us.

Truly enjoyed all the stories in this collection. I love the tension and unease that was built and there was enough scare without resorting to gratuitous gore or shock.

Wander through visions of the most terrible of angels, the Seven who would undo the world. Venture through Hell and back, and lands more terrestrial and darker still. Linger a while in childhoods, and seasons of change by turns tragic and monstrously transformative. Lose yourself amongst the haunted and those who can't let go, in relationships that might have been and never were. Witness in dreams and reflections, hungers and horrors, the shadows cast upon the wall, and linger in forests deep.

Darkly thrilling, these 20 new ghost stories have all the chills and power of traditional ghost stories, but each tale is a unique retelling of an urban legend from the world over. Multiple award-winning editor Ellen Datlow and award-nominated author and editor Nick Mamatas recruited Jeffrey Ford, Ramsey Campbell, Joe R. Lansdale, Caitlin Kiernan, Catherynne M. Valente, Kit Reed, Ekaterina Sedia, and 13 other fine writers to create stories unlike any they've written before.
