These were the first witch themed books I have read/listened to. One came to know and love the characters through the author's creative writing. I enjoyed Zara's sense of humor and attitude. It was great following Zoey's struggle to deal as a teenager with a weird mother and her disappointments in her development. If one is looking for a light-hearted, spirited mystery, these are definitely great ones to choose. The only spoiler I have is this is not a 3 book series, this is only the beginning.

Meet the galaxy's unluckiest outlaws. Carl Ramsey is an ex-Earth Navy fighter pilot turned con man. His ship, the Mobius, is home to a ragtag crew of misfits and refugees looking to score a big payday but more often just scratching to pay for fuel. The crew consists of his ex-wife (and pilot), a drunkard, four-handed mechanic, a xeno-predator with the disposition of a 120kg housecat, and the galaxy's most-wanted wizard.

I had selected this set of stories because it had eluded to be enticing to Firefly fans. I was a little skeptical at first with the mention of wizards and other beings, but decided to give it a go. I loved it. I enjoyed getting to know each one of the crew intimately as the author lead us through their stories - the good, the bad and the ugly and then through their combined escapades.
J. S. Morin's Galaxy Outlaws kept me on the edge of my seat to see how each adventure ended. I loved that it gave me a happy ending also, but know I feel I have lost old friends. Time well spent!
