Owen Blackthorne is a lone wolf, a man who doesn't need anyone. Then Bayleigh Creed appears on his doorstep, demanding his help in locating her missing brother. Together they head into the desolate West Texas wilderness, a Blackthorne and a Creed, mortal enemies obliged to join forces to survive. Neither counts on the unwanted attraction that draws them together, or the bitter truths that will force them apart--until the ruthless wilderness compels them to make life-and-death choices between family and duty and love.

I've listened to well over 100 audible/audio books. The narration of this book plus lack of editing was unbelievably bad! From the stoping/starting again in a sentence to periodically hearing a male in the background counting down was unbelievable. Plus, there was the lack of different intonations for each character. In the beginning it sounded as though it was set on fast speed so I slowed it to 75% which didn't help. This is a very gifted author but she is not a narrator. I kept thinking if only a Jack Garrett or others of his ability had been the narrator! I bought two in this series at one time but will buy no more with this author as narrator!

Sadie Miller isn't expecting any welcome-home parades on her return to Copper Ridge. Least of all from part-time rancher, full-time lawman Eli Garrett. The straitlaced, impossibly hot deputy sheriff glares at her as if she's the same teenage hoodlum who fled town 10 years ago. But running from her demons has brought Sadie full circle, ready to make a commitment at last. Not to a man but to a bed-and-breakfast. On Garrett land. Okay, so her plan has a tiny flaw.

This was difficult for me to finish because of the narration and storyline. I will not buy another with that has this narrator. The story was not interesting -- except to wonder how quickly the next sexual encounter would occur.

For the youngest Carson brother, finding - and fixing - trouble seems to be all in a day's work. Mace Carson doesn't consider himself a hero. Back in college, he came upon a woman in trouble and intervened - but he was just one irate Wyoming cowboy with his boots planted firmly on the side of right. Now a successful vintner, Mace is shocked to be reunited with the woman he saved.

Great story and Jack Garret, as always, is a superb narrator. It is such a pleasure to find another series by LLM!

Good story but find male narrator very distracting. He does poorly with Texas accent as well as voice changes for different characters. I'm going through the series and the narration is most disappointing!

Story was very good, however, the narrator ruined it for me. Her normal speaking tone/voice was fine but, when she changed for each character it was almost unbearable. Her voice changed to a nasal -- at times -- almost a shriek.
