I love this series, it is by Christopher Artinian , a fairly new author but one who will be around a long time. The zombies are called Rams and are as bad as some of the gangs. This story takes place in the UK and Ireland and revolves around Mike, Lucy, and the rest f his family. They have to leave their home and city to find a place when there are no Rams or gangs. They have one bad adventure after another, Just read the first book and you will want to read the following ones

It spread fast - no time to understand it - let alone learn how to fight it. Once it reached you, it was too late. All you could do is run. Rumored safe zones and potential for a cure drifted across the populace, forcing tough decisions to be made. They say only the strong survive. I am really loving this series by Nicholas Sansbury Smith. There is no stop action with fantastic characters. My favorites are X and Michael, not so much Jordan. And of course Miles. This story takes place way in the future, after another war where nuclear bombs killed the earth and mutants roam. Some survivors are in an airship flying and have been for over two hundred years. There are divers that go down to earth to look for things to keep them alive. So read the first book and you will be hooked. I am on the third one now.
