It was supposed to be a vacation, a time to save her marriage, but what Joan Clayton hadn't counted on was Murphy's Law of Vail Mountain and the secrets that had damaged her marriage beyond repair. It was over. Depressed and angry, she decided to venture directly into an oncoming snowstorm, one that would be known as the blizzard of the century. Stephen Brockheart received the call concerning a missing tourist after working 26 hours straight. A park ranger for the mountain resort, he set out on the routine mission, knowing he was running out of time.

Stranded on Vail Mountain (Vail Mountain Trilogy #1) by Desiree L. Scott was a great read. Joan has decided to go on vacation in order to save her marriage. Unfortunately her marriage crumbles when she discovers her husband has been cheating on her. She ventures into a snowstorm and gets rescued by Stephen, a park ranger. I absolutely loved reading Joan and Stephen's story and would love to read more about the characters.

Chase Hillier has plans, and nothing will cause her to deviate from them. So far, they're pretty simple: Get through her first year of college with good grades, read a lot of books, and hopefully find a cute boyfriend who could turn into her husband someday. Cordelia Scott has her own plans: Get through her freshman year without too many panic attacks, figure out what the hell she wants to major in, and meet a guy who finally makes her heart flutter. Fate has other plans for the two when they end up as roommates and neither of them can stop thinking about the other.

William Wallace started out as a humble knight, but he died a war hero. He gave up everything in his fight for Scottish freedom, including his life. When captured, Wallace was hung, drawn, and quartered by the English king for crimes against the crown. Though he was memorialized in the 1995 film Braveheart, this book tells how much of what we associate with Wallace is more legend than fact. Still, the spirit of the great Scotsman lives on in the hearts and minds of his compatriots today.
