Set in present-day Los Angeles, Junk explores an epic conspiracy, one at work for thousands of years that involves total takeover of the planet Earth by aliens. In the wild, souped-up vision of Les Bohem - the acclaimed, Emmy-winning writer of the Steven Spielberg miniseries, Taken - the world is at the end stage of long-range plot that involves a gigantic genetic-engineering project. The aliens who have invaded us have no planet. No spaceship is coming. Instead, a small advance force comes, breeds, and dies - thus becoming an anomaly in our DNA that can’t be explained.

In the first book of this brilliant series, Stephen King introduces listeners to one of his most powerful creations: Roland of Gilead, The Last Gunslinger. He is a haunting figure, a loner on a spellbinding journey into good and evil. In his desolate world, which frighteningly mirrors our own, Roland tracks The Man in Black, encounters an enticing woman named Alice, and begins a friendship with the boy from New York named Jake.

I listed to this book three times. I kept thinking I must have let my mind wander, or I fell asleep or something. Nope turns out the book just doesn’t make any sense. Honestly I felt like I was listening to a lunatic ramble on about nothing in particular.

Needless to say I won’t be moving on to book 2.

I am so sad Dick Hill retired. This book was great, predictable as all Kack Reacher books but it doesn’t matter because they’re fun. But the narrator was so distracting I could barely handle it. I should say I don’t think he is a bead narrator at all, it was an impossible pair of shoes to fill.

I’m not sure who all these fake reviews are, but nobody could actually like this. I am this close to quitting audible over this. Why would you peddle this trash on people?

I would have given this book a significantly better rating had he not ended the book the way he did. This is a fine way to end a book if you have the next one already written, but when we have to wait this kind of thing just pisses me off.

Other than that it was not the best in the series, but not the worst either.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

What was most disappointing about Andy Weir’s story?

It was unoriginal, in fact it was so close to Hard Luck Hank I was shocked. It was like Hank with a tone of swearing. The most disappointing part was the conclusion, she would have been booted off the moon woth that weak crap leverage.

What character would you cut from Artemis?

Sadly, Artemis

Any additional comments?

I was so excited to listen to this. Audible is really pushing it on people. I’ve rarely been so disappointed ina book. Don’t waste the credit.
