"I've experienced a whole lot the last few years and I have a lot to share. So I hope that you'll take a moment to sit back, relax and enjoy the words I've put together for you in this book. I think you'll find I've left no stone unturned, no door unopened, no window unbroken, no rug unvacuumed, no ivories untickled. What I'm saying is, let us begin, shall we?" (Ellen DeGeneres)

It's just another day of high school for Zack Lightman. He's daydreaming through another boring math class, with just one more month to go until graduation and freedom - if he can make it that long without getting suspended again. Then he glances out his classroom window and spots the flying saucer.

I'm glad I opted for the audio book. Wil Wheaton turned in another great performance and was hands down the highlight. It is all downhill from there.

I really wanted to like this book. It's not that it is a letdown compared to Ready Player One. It's not that this one cannot stand next to its predecessor. It's just that this offering isn't very good in any capacity. The characters, the story, the pacing, plot development...it's all very shallow.

Essentially take everything great about Ready Player One and discard it leaving only the critiques...then multiply them.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

If you remember the days when you couldn't save your game....if you have fond childhood memories of the sounds of an old arcade game...if you are a child of the 80's...you will love this book.

The author plays great attention to detail in a brilliant story with all of the elements of fantasy, adventure, sci-fi, and love story by sprinkling in the perfect amount of familiar nostalgic references.

I can think of no one better to narrate than Wil Wheaton who does a spectacular job with just the right amount of enthusiasm and the perfect voice to represent the narrator's character.

It is a true adventure in every sense as the plot succeeds in keeping you engaged in the story through the various twists and unpredictable turns. The pace starts out moderately slow setting the stage and consistently increases to an epic climax.

This may be my new favorite book of all time.

Overall as with all of Lencioni's fables the story is good. It isn't my favorite, but it is good and there is plenty to take away. The narrator was good for the first half of the book, but then the audio appeared to shift significantly at the beginning of a new section. It was enough of a shift that I thought it was a completely new narrator altogether. Additionally the narration is at times a bit too animated for my taste.

In summary, the story is good, but certainly should not be your first Lencioni book and the narration is adequate.

As he writes: "It's a vibrant and definite sea change from the way business was always done, when financial profit was a driving force. Today, people aren't afraid to say, Screw business as usual!-and show they mean it."

I'm not sure who narrated this book but it sounds nothing like Richrard Branson. The voice is low, grumbling, and intolerable. Having heard Richard speak in person on numerous occasions I find his voice pleasant to hear. This voice is unbearable and as a result I could not stand more than 4 minutes of the book before finding something else to consume my time.
