I found this book to be rather engaging and couldn't stop listening until I was done! I enjoy the characters in the series so listening to their backstory held my interest. The narrator also did a great job. Overall, I would recommend this book!

Would you try another book from R. Barri Flowers and/or Robin Kohn Glazer?

No

What was most disappointing about R. Barri Flowers???s story?

The writing seemed hurried.

What didn???t you like about Robin Kohn Glazer???s performance?

She rushed through the reading and made the writing seem more hurried.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment.

Any additional comments?

If a mystery is going to be set in Hawaii, the writing should make you feel as if you are in Hawaii. The setting was merely indicated and not described well enough to make you feel like you were there. The characters also weren't well-developed and they just didn't seem realistic to me. I felt disconnected from the story.

Investigator Hazel Micallef is still recovering from back surgery when a report comes in that a body has been found in a nearby lake, snagged under several feet of water. But the whole thing is way too eerie. The first installment of a story has just been published in the local paper: a passage that describes in detail just such a discovery. Real life is far too close to fiction for coincidence.

This is the second book I've listened to by this author. I enjoyed the first one (The Calling) and this latest one didn't disappoint. I recommend it!
