“Careful there, Robbie.” My sweater obscured part of my sight, and my fogged-up glasses managed to take care of the rest of it, but I’d recognize that voice anywhere, even after eight long years. It was deeper now, a bit more gravelly, but it most definitely belonged to the guy I’d spent most of my early teenage years pining after. My first - and unrequited - love. “Troy?” I exclaimed, blinking my confusion as he helped pull my sweater the rest of the way off. Troy Jacobs' gorgeous lips twitched in amusement. “You remember me. Didn’t know if you would."

Wasn't sure what type of story to expect. This is a new to me author, though I am familiar with the narrators work. This was a very sweet—and really hot—short listen.

Robbie has had a crush on Troy since they were teens. When a family tragedy and school break throw them back together again, Robbie discovers the crush may not have been one sided.

It started with an anonymous post by someone who didn't want to live anymore. I read it over and over again, unable to get it out of my mind. What if my brother Johnny had posted something like this before he'd taken his own life? Would someone have been able to save him? I've been living a lie for 16 long years, and I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to keep it up. And when a beautiful, broken man walks into my tattoo shop asking for a second chance at life, I know I'll never be able to turn him away.

I don't re-read books and to me, listening to audio is like re-reading...or so I thought. That is not the case. Listening to the narrator, in this case, brought an entirely new perspective to this story. I have read the entire Heathens Ink series and am now working my way through the audio.

Strange things are happening all around Brinnswick. Things that remind me of a piece of my past I’d rather forget. Girls are being killed, drained of blood, and left with strange markings on their bodies. When I finally connect the cases together, a specialist is called in - though, what he’s a specialist of is beyond me. When the chief assigns him as my new partner for the case, I can’t help but groan on the inside. Why of all people would I be assigned to Ailin Ellwood?

I am familiar with this author from her other series' and, although a fan, this book didn't interest me. The magick/paranormal just didn't feel like my thing at this time. Fast forward to the audio release. I am a huge fan of Kenneth's and decided to give this one a shot.

Absolutely brilliant narration of an amazing world! Witches, warlocks, ogres, and many other magick beings; combined with mystery, murder, and romance; The Enchanter's Flame had me on the edge of my seat, laughing out loud, and in tears—both happy and sad.

If you are on the fence about this title, jump!

Attempted poisoning was bad enough, but when the would-be killer messes with the brakes on Marc’s precious Porsche, the art dealer admits he needs help. He just wasn’t expecting help to be quite so dark and sexy. Royce Karras loves his job at Ward Security. He’s making up for a lifetime of bad decisions and a bloody past he’d rather forget. Found this series because of the narrator. I don't know that I would have picked the series to read, but since I am a fan of Kenneth Obi, I started going through his works. Stumbled on the first book and have waited, no so patiently, for each one after. Mystery, suspense, emotion and all the feels.

The characters are brought to life through the narration and Kenneth does a fabulous job of making each one unique. There were several side characters in this particular book and it was always easy to know who was speaking.

I sat on the edge of my seat.
I laughed out loud.
I cried the last half of the final chapter. Heart wrenching to happy.

Okay, I had only really dipped my toe into puppy play prior to listening to this. I also, until discovering Kenneth Obi, did not listen to audio books. Being this was in his list and I hadn't read it yet, I was willing to give it a try. So glad I did! Listened to the whole thing in one day.

The characters personalities were brought to life in the narration and easily distinguishable. Cooper was an excitable person that transferred right into his puppy persona. But oh is he naughty—read dirty. And I loved it! Sawyer may not have been as openly sexual as Cooper, but his dirty talk was definitely steamy.

I like that Jackson's character was clueless, followed by intrigued and didn't try to hide that from the other two. His attraction and willingness to try some new things and the work he put into learning was a great mind set for this character. He kept the story from going every which way.

The narrator was consistent in the voices and the tones used really added to the scenes.

I am a rare audio book person, but have found myself becoming a fan of Kenneth Obi. This is the first book I listened to the audio only without having read the book first. New to me authors as well.

This was a great story! Ticked all my boxes for suspense, romance, sexy times. Kenneth does a great job of using the proper tones in his voice for the different areas to convey happiness, scared, aroused and any other emotions.

The only complaint I have, and it may read differently as opposed to hearing on audio, was the first chapter (possibly two) introducing so many side characters. The reasoning to meet all of these characters is necessary for the story plot, but I think it is possible it could have been spread out a bit. I think I remembered one name from the original set up and learned/recalled the rest during the story.

This appears to be a series and I really cannot wait to hear the next books.
