Rachel had the courage to share her challenges and how she overcame them on the reader's account. Her sacrifice of divulging her life's journey to the reader in turn has given us tools to take with us into the world and prepare for our own future hurdles or past hurdles that we have yet to clear. I am appreciative to Rachel for her words, her heart, and her courage as a Mom, wife, entrepreneur, and God's child.

In a world that thrives on competition and individual achievement, we are measuring and pursuing potential all wrong. By pursuing success in isolation - pushing others away as we push ourselves too hard - we are not just limiting our potential, we are becoming more stressed and disconnected than ever. In his highly anticipated follow-up to The Happiness Advantage, Achor reveals a better approach. Drawing on his work in 50 countries, he shows that success and happiness are not competitive sports.

"The dirty little secret about most organizing advice is that it's written by organized people," says blogger, speaker, and decluttering expert Dana K. White. "But that's not how my brain works. I'm lost on page three." Dana blogs at A Slob Comes Clean, chronicling her successes and failures with her self-described "deslobification process". In the beginning she used the name Nony (short for aNONYmous), because she was sharing her deep, dark slob secret. Now she has truly come clean - with not only her real name but the strategies she has developed.

I actually read Dana's "Decluttering at the Speed of Life" before this one, and had it been reversed, I would have probably given this one 5 stars on everything, but I found the other to be written in a more organized way - well at least for my brain. I still recommend this read. I definitely took away some "keeper concepts" that weren't in the other. Chapters 18 and on were really where I found the gold.

I'm so grateful for both books and for my fellow Texas gal, wife, Momma, and slob. I feel you on all accounts. I'm just 3 weeks, I have made huge strides in my home, like where I want to invite people over just for fun. And I really want to them to stop in unannounced, so I can feel even more proud.

While the world seems to be in love with the idea of tiny houses and minimalism, real women with real families who are constantly growing and changing simply can't purge it all and start from nothing. Yet a home with too much stuff is a home that is difficult to maintain, so where do we begin? Add in paralyzing emotional attachments and constant life challenges, and it can feel almost impossible to make real decluttering progress.

Dana's book helped me past this paralyzed state. I also welcomed the ideas of recognizing the difference among cleaning, organizing, and decluttering. All very different. I have already begun to o declutter my home, and it feels oh so liberating.
