The adventures of Laura Ingalls and her family continue as they move from their little house on the banks of Plum Creek to the wilderness of the unsettled Dakota Territory. Here Pa works on the new railroad until he finds a homestead claim that is perfect for their new little house. Laura takes her first train ride as she, her sisters, and their mother come out to live with Pa on the shores of Silver Lake. After a lonely winter in the surveyors' house, Pa puts up the first building in what will soon be a brand-new town on the beautiful shores of Silver Lake.

I love this series and Cherry Jones is and excellent narrator! The actual fiddle playing was great and the singing made the book more fun. Nice detail descriptions and again excellent narration! Not one thing about the whole series is inappropriate. I would say, ages 6 to infinity could read this (I would go younger but some little kids might not understand what life was like 200 years ago. Love it!😍

Anne Shirley has left Redmond College behind to begin a new job and a new chapter of her life away from Green Gables. Now she faces a new challenge: the Pringles. They're known as the royal family of Summerside - and they quickly let Anne know she is not the person they had wanted as principal of Summerside High School. But as she settles into the cozy tower room at Windy Poplars, Anne finds she has great allies in the widows Aunt Kate and Aunt Chatty - and in their irrepressible housekeeper, Rebecca Dew.

The book is great, but if you could stick to one narrator, it would be a WHOLE LOT BETTER. Like Sinead Dixon. She’s fine. Two narrators is probably my personal MAX LEVEL. Hope you know I’m right.

Not a very good narrator but the voice for Fern was so sweet! Anyway the narrator sounded like she was being forced into reading the book . It is a SAD story so note to people that don’t like sadness in their books then DO NOT read this book. Overall it was good.πŸ™‚πŸ˜’πŸ˜•πŸ˜πŸ€―

Nine years, five older siblings, a few beloved dogs, and an endless array of adventures - these are the things that have shaped Lydia's journey since fans first met her in The Penderwicks in Spring. Now, it's summertime, and 11-year-old Lydia is dancing at the bus stop, waiting for big sister, Batty, to get home from college. This is a very important dance and a very important wait, because the two youngest sisters are about to arrive home to find out that the Penderwicks will all be returning to Arundel this summer, the place where it all began.

When I first started the Penderwicks’ Series, they swept me into their world! I love them! Though, I’m really sad 😒 that the series has come to an end, I loved the adventures. It was like, I was there with Rosalind, Skye, Jane, Batty, Lydia, and Ben. With them, it was like NOTHING could go wrong. I’m going to miss them, especially dear little Lydia (Lyds). I love The Penderwicks!πŸ˜„πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ€©πŸ˜‹πŸ˜πŸ€—πŸ˜±πŸ˜₯πŸ˜“β•β•β•β•β•β•πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ I HIGHLY recommend this series for listeners ages 5 to infinity!

The night winds were beginning their wild dances beyond the bar, and the fishing hamlet across the harbor was gemmed with lights as Anne and her husband, Gilbert, finally a doctor, drove up the poplar lane. The door of the little house opened, and a warm glow of firelight flickered out into the dusk. Gilbert lifted Anne from the buggy and led her into the garden, through the little gate, up the trim, red path to the sandstone step. "Welcome home," he whispered, and hand in hand they stepped over the threshold of their house of dreams...and the story begins.

While not my favorite in the Anne series, this story is another full of endearing characters and stories. The narrator's voice isn't horrible, but she had trouble with randomly placing breaks in her speech (possibly when turning pages?), which was distracting. Also, the sound quality was horrendous. Wish I had asked to return it, but my daughter listened to the whole thing before me without complaint:)
