I hired her to be my girlfriend. To fix my reputation. To save my career. It's not that I don't want a girlfriend. I do. I want it all. Wife, kids, side-by-side burial plots. The problem is - I can't have any of it. So I've made myself untouchable. The quintessential bachelor of baseball. Because it's not worth the risk. Not even for someone I love. Especially not for someone I love. We made the arrangements. We agreed to a contract. It's iron clad. No sex. No love. No future.

The "fake fiance" type story is overdone for me personally. It better be truly special or have unique wrinkles and I need to really like the MC. It wasn't, it didn't, and I didn't care for Sawyer or Aspen all that much. Love this author and loved the first two of this series...this one just wasn't for me

It was my home run ball that shattered her face. Right along with her modeling career. Now it's my mission to help her rebuild her life. And get her to love the game that she hates. The game that dictates my life both on and off the field. But when the lines of our friendship become blurred, I worry she'll just be another casualty of my three-strikes rule. The rule I have to protect my money, my future, my heart. No girl has ever broken it. I've never wanted one to. Until now.

Samantha Christy is an automatic credit or purchase for me. Her books are great and this was no exception. 5 Big Stars!

Side Note: This is book one of this series, but it does have ties with her Mitchell Sisters and Stone Brothers series. It can easily and undoubtedly will be enjoyed by itself but for the full experience I recommend listening to those first.

I enjoyed this book probably too much. The book contains some hot scenarios and well written sexy scenes. However, for me anyway there was some unintended humor. Some of the descriptive terms and analogies used during sex scenes were so cheesy to me...and when coupled with the breathy voices of both narrators, I actually had a good laugh at times. I'll get more from this author.

The two-time best-selling author, comedian, actor, and radio icon explains the philosophy that has kept his existence boredom-free since the age of 13 - the love of risk. An avid sports better and frequent card player, Lange believes that the true gambler gets high not from winning, but from the chaotic unknown of betting itself. He recounts some of his favorite moments, many of which haven't involved money at all. In this candid and entertaining memoir, he looks back at the times he's wagered the intangible and priceless things in life: his health, his career, and his relationships.

I first want to say this narrator is incredible! I don't know if he just naturally sounds like Artie or not...but his accents and inflections on words are really spot on. I had to remind myself several times, that it wasn't Artie speaking. Well done!

I liked what Artie had to say in this one overall....but wasn't my favorite. Some chapters were incredibly enthralling...his ability to tell a story has not waned from his Stern days. A couple of those stories were hilarious, btw! Other chapters he seemed to go on rants or even off topic altogether and just lost me for awhile.

Artie if you're reading this, I love you, BRO! *Wink *Wink! I am grateful for all the laughs, memories you provided from your time on Stern and continue to provide now. I hope to see a standup routine some day, but you never seem to travel off the upper East coast much these days. Get and stay healthy, and I wish you continued success.

One story. Two couples. I fell in love with a man who didn't exist. What started out as romance ended in hell. His words turned to razor blades. His kisses converted to fists. His embrace became my cage. His body transformed into a weapon, stealing parts of me until ultimately...I broke. I hated him. My sole job in life became to protect our daughter. I wasn't sure I'd ever escape the prison he'd skillfully crafted from my fears. Until the day our savior arrived. This is the story of how I escaped the man who thought he owned me.

It's a long story, but I messed up at work. Big time. To earn back the trust of my boss, I promised to save one of our magazines. Yep. That Hot Dad contest you've seen advertised all over the place was my idea. And if I'm successful, if I'm able to increase our online readership, then I get a shot at my dream job. But the one thing I never expected to happen, happened: Contestant number 10, Grayson Malone. Hello, Mr. Difficult. And did I mention sexy as hell? Unfortunately he knows me. The old me, anyway. I remind him of before. Of the woman who broke his heart....

This one had it's moments. I had a difficult time falling for these characters. Too much angst for me. Most of the time when I did, it was with scenes or chapters that included or centered on Luke. Then another chapter would start and I found myself tuning out. Not sure why. I was very disappointed with the epilogue. Gave 4 stars...5 narration/3 story

A quick point about Mr. Webber. He does the best emotional scenes....emotional scenes with the voice cracking and also his kid voice is spot on! Incredible job voicing Luke!

Always great to find a new to me author and narrator that I enjoy so thoroughly. Was a pleasure to listen and I already have the next cued up and ready to listen to it.

I must say that it took me awhile to get into it. I found the beginning just a little confusing for 2 reasons. Thus the reason for 4.5 stars. This book is written in the 3rd person POV. There were moments of dialogue that I found it confusing as to who was speaking. Also, again because of 3rd person...there wasn't a clear 2 main characters that stood out for quite some time. We meet multiple people who we find out are attractive and notice each other....but it's not clear for a bit who this story is ultimately going to be about. Once it does become clear, I was hooked and thoroughly enjoyed it.
