Adam Rutledge, Viscount d'Arque, really rather loathes Christmas. The banal cheerfulness. The asinine party games. And, worst of all, the obligatory trip to the countryside. His grandmother, however, loves the holiday - and Adam loves his grandmother, so he'll brave the fiercest snowstorm to please her. But when their carriage wheel snaps, they're forced to seek shelter at the home of the most maddening, infuriating, and utterly beguiling woman he's ever met.

I am a huge fan of The Maiden Lanes series & this novella was a very sweet addition. It was nice to see Godrick & Meg from Lord of Darkness in the book. I was happy for Lord Dark to find love. He was featured in other books of the series and I always found him an interesting character. I am quite sad to have this series end, but I look forward to what Ms. Hoyt has for us in the future. Ashford McNab did a fantastic job with her narration as always.

Another amazing addition to one of my favorite series. I loved the sassy/brave Sam & Gavin was just perfect. I love how these characters are so deeply wounded but can still love so fiercely. I liked seeing Ian & Mena ( The Highlander) as they are my favorite couple to date. Excited to see if "Rook" gets a storey next . He is fascinating. Derek Perkins narration was great as always.

As this is to be the last in a very long series I was sad to read it but as with all these books I loved it. Elizabeth Hoyts books never disappoint. Iris & Raphael had such great chemistry. She was the light & the dark. The Duke of Kyle made an appearance but I was disappointed that we didn't see Alf. As far as narration Ashford McNab is the perfection as always.

I like this book but if I am being honest it was my least favorite in the series so far. The best part for me was the appearance of Vivian Manning ❀ I loved the Mistress Matchmaker series and it was sweet the way Vivian got these two together. The book dragged a little but It had a nice ending.
