Days before the July Fourth holiday and the dedication of One World Trade Center at Ground Zero, an incident aboard a commercial jet flying over the Atlantic Ocean reminds everyone that vigilance is not a task to be taken lightly. But for iconoclastic NYPD detective Jeremy Fisk, it may also be a signal that there is much more to this case than the easy answer of this being just the work of another lone terrorist. Fisk suspects that the event might also be a warning sign that another scheme has been set in motion.

Rumspringa is the time when Amish teens are allowed to experience life without the rules. It’s an exciting time of personal discovery and growth before committing to the church. But when a young teen disappears without a trace, the carefree fun comes to an abrupt and sinister end, and fear spreads through the community like a contagion.

This was the first audio in this series that I listened to. I couldn't tell there had been three previous books. There wasn't a feel of missing out on the prior stories. I loved the characters especially Kate and the reading and voice changes were fantastic. This really brought the Amish lifestyle to light for me, I'm from the south so we don't have that culture and lifestyle here. I look forward to the obtaining the rest of the series.

You can tell when some authors cut so much of the story the plot starts going sideways. I didn't get that at all with this novel. I truly enjoyed the plot and writing style. The narration was one of the best I've heard. Characters were much easier to follow because each had a different voice and the accents where great.

I enjoyed the story. The narrator was a little difficult to follow when he was reading conversation sections. The final chapters seemed to be consolidated from the original draft. I love the history lesson from the author at the end. This is the second "prey" books I read/listened to; look forward to hearing many more of this series.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.
