Leaving New York City and returning to her hometown to teach a screenplay writing class seems like just the break Grace Montgomery needs. Until her sisters wake her at 4:30 in the morning to watch the hottest guys in town train wild horses and she realizes that escaping her sisters’ drama-filled lives was a lot easier from hundreds of miles away. To make matters worse, she spots the one man she never wanted to see again - ruggedly handsome Reed Cross.

I listened to the audio version of this book. I really, really liked this story. After listening to some of Ms. Foster's other books, I felt like this one had a little more to it. A lot of her others have a bunch of girlfriends hanging out, but this one felt more family oriented to me which I really preferred.
Grace and Reed's story is a second chance trope. Their history was ten years past, so they've grown up a lot. They have a lot of issues to work through in order to forgive past hurts and to take that first step to come back together. The heat is undeniably still there, but they have lives in different places. Even though Grace is back home, it is only temporary. They both know that she can never have the life she's used to back in her little home town. So how in the world will they ever make this love work?
What I like most about this book was the depth of emotion felt by Grace when it came time for her to leave Reed and her family to go back to the city. It was written in a way that you could feel just how devastating it was to her. Great job by Ms. Foster.
The narration combo of Andi Arndt and Sebastian York would do powerful things for even the dictionary if they were reading it. They are my all time favorite duo and truly would be an automatic 5 stars from me. You just can't go wrong with anything narrated by them!

I listened to this book in audio. I loved this story! I really think is one of the better books I've read by Barbara Goss. The characters of Elaina and Peter were easy to relate to even though they are in a different time.
I really like western romances. I love how simple the times are contrasting with how hard life was at that time. Elaina and Peter meet as Elaina gets off the train (loved the discussion on how fast it was to travel that way) and are married shortly thereafter. Elaina's lack of cooking and farming skills were sad and laughable at the same time, but it certainly made you feel for the despair her shortcoming brought her. Peter's willingness to help her learn was heartwarming.
Peter'a character was such an upstanding guy that you had to like him. I wanted to shake him once in awhile, but he sure didn't get what he was expecting in his mail-order bride. His protection of her spoke volumes.
This was a great clean, western romance with a great plot and great characters. I highly recommend. I was given this audio book, but all thoughts are my own.

I listened to the audio version of this book. This was my first book by Xio Axelrod. The story was so much more than I had anticipated. More emotion, more exploration into the characters...just more of all the good things.
I don't usually like books about rock stars, pop stars, movie stars or models. However, Axelrod really worked on the characterization of Yara and really humanized her in a way that a lot of books dealing with that type of character don't ("Look at me! I'm rich and famous! Look at me!"). I just can't relate to those people, but Yara's character was in a bad situation and needed Cam's help. That made her more likable for me.
Camden was just a great guy from the get-go, even if his company had played a part in Yara's troubles. I loved that he recognized her from the moment she walked in the bar, had her food and drink taken care of and didn't approach her till much later. Then there's the fact that he's super hot!
This book was really good by itself, but the dual narration by Greg Tremblay and Megan Tusing added so much to it! They were both incredible! Awesome audiobook!

I listened to the audio version of this book. I have read several cozy mysteries and this one is pretty good. The author started the story out by introducing the different characters and I had no idea where the story was going. She developed the background and the interaction of the characters well before the mystery part came into play.
After the death of a character occurred, Ms. Brookes did a good job of leading the reader on in order to make you feel like you had figured out who had "dun-it". Of course, if you think you've figured it out, you're bound to be wrong. I certainly was! There was lots of mystery to go around in the plot. The characters were likable and felt real.
The author also did a great job giving the reader a little insight into life on a cruise ship, both from the passenger and from the cruise personnel's point of view. There were British words and phrases that threw this American reader off a few times, but the book was a lot of fun and kept my attention. A very fun cozy mystery indeed! Tea anyone?

This audio book written by Mysti Parker and narrated by Meghan Kelly was just a great time! It was so full of humor and I love humor in a book!
My favorite character had to be Jack. Besides being super sexy, he was a veterinarian who adopted animals with special needs or those that just weren't adopted out. He is seen is a bad boy who will never be in a relationship. But he's willing to be Avery's fake-husband in exchange for free rights to her body.
Avery needs a fake husband to win a contest. She makes the deal with Jack and it's a win-win for her. At least it should be, until she ends up getting something she hadn't bargained for. Can she get the no strings attached Jack to open his heart up?
This book had laughs galore, hot sex, secrets, family and animals. It had it all!
My only issue with this audio book was the voice used for Jack was fairly flat at times and seemed to drag.
I was given this audio book for free. All thoughts are my own.

I listened to the audio version of this book. I have listened to MANY of Melissa Foster's books. I found myself having a surprisingly difficult time getting into this book. I'm still not sure why. Addy was a pretty strong character who was determined to do things on her own, in her business and when she took off on a hiking trip by herself. Jake was definitely an alpha who wanted to protect her, but was smart enough to step back when her independence came to light. He is a rescue professional, so that was a hard thing for him to deal with, but he did it for her sake. That should have made me fall in love with him--I love strong, protective heroes.
I would have liked more conflict in the story and maybe some strong subplots. I still really can't say why I didn't connect to this story, but I just didn't. I also think maybe there have been so many narrated by B.J. Harrison, that they all sound exactly the same at this point.

I listened to the audio version of this book. I give it 3 1/2 stars. First of all, I feel like the cover was misleading. I expected something light and funny. The only thing that fit that was the very beginning when the heroine woke up from a night of drinking and discovered she somehow managed to marry a guy in another state by proxy and the 0h, ____ moments that accompanied that moment of remembering.
Other than that, most of the book was much darker than I anticipated.
I did still enjoy the book. The plot was original. There wasn't much romantic buildup, but you could tell that the couple did care about each other (if only they would tell each other!) My real problem with the audio version was Nicole Marie Blessing's voice for the male. The female voice was very good, even delightful at times. However, the male voice was rather monotone...even when he was making a joke. I don't know if I would have felt different about the book if I'd read it. Who knows?

I listened to the audio version of this book and had an absolutely great time with it! Tamara and Wyatt were great characters. Wyatt had an arch nemesis in this book in the form of a quarterback on his football team. Tamara had a friends only relationship with the same guy, but that didn't stop the guy from messing with her mind and her belief in Wyatt. Ms. Armstrong really gave Wyatt and Tamara a great relationship. The growth of the relationship was at a good speed and it was really pretty sweet, but had some hot attraction thrown in. The story really kept me listening and wanting to listen more ("Come on, doggies, let's go for another walk!"). This may have been my favorite out of this series so far!
