Retired FBI agent Kyle Tremont reluctantly agreed to one last job as a favor to his former boss. The mission was to extract an agent by the code name "Phantom" from a deep undercover assignment. The plan went smoothly until their identities were compromised. On the run with a sexy yet mysteriously innocent operative, he found her more intriguing by the minute. Which meant the sooner he delivered her to safety and made his way home to Texas, the better!

I listened to the audio version of this book. I have read several Becky Barker books, but this is the first romantic suspense. The story pulled me in from the very beginning. The suspense built right from the beginning and stayed steady throughout the book. I really couldn't listen to this like I wanted to or I would have listened from beginning to end all in one sitting.
Rianna is an undercover agent sent in to get the goods on a bad guy. Kyle, a retired agent, takes on the task of going in to get her out. They are on the run, trying to stay ahead of the stooges that are on their tails. Add some steam and romance in and you have a book you just can't get enough of!
This was just a great listen--a wonderful, fast paced story and a great narration by Steven Miller!

I listened to the audio version of this book. The story is a Christian romance story involving a woman with a disability. It brings in the paralympics as Isla competes in races in her wheelchair. Duncan is her coach and long time friend. The romance between them is definitely sweet as they are both very tentative. It is a good story with good narration.
I was given this audio book. All thoughts are my own.

Inheriting the Magnolia Inn, a Victorian home nestled in the East Texas pines, is a fantasy come true for Jolene Broussard. After living with the guilt of failing to rescue her self-destructive mother, Jolene knows her aunt and uncle’s B&B is the perfect jump start for a new life and a comforting place to call home. There’s just one hitch: stubborn and moody carpenter Tucker Malone. He’s got a half interest in the Magnolia Inn, and he’s planting his dusty cowboy boots squarely in the middle of her dream.

I listened to the audio version of this book. If there is anything more satisfying than a Carolyn Brown book, it has to be a Carolyn Brown audio book performed by a wonderful narrator like Brittany Presley. Ms. Brown set the hook with the characters and the story and Ms. Presley reeled me in with her soothing voice and diverse character representation. I'm always willing to use my Audible credit on a Carolyn Brown book!

I listened to the audio version of this book. This was my first by this author and it was different enough to stand out for me. The Arabic sounding music used to distinguish change in time or place was a very nice extra. The characters were all very different, but all intriguing. Kahn's accent for each was very good.
The story takes place over a period of time when the U.S. was ramping up in response to the terror attack on the Twin Towers and the others that took place that day. Although the characters all signed on for different reasons, the result was the same--they were in harms way in the name of their country. The book gently explored the way music can make lives better and even help us get through a war.
I'll have to admit that the author almost lost me at one point. There is a very small segment of the book in which one of the characters is captured by Iraqis and tortured. I don't do torture and almost quit, but Ms. Kahn kept it brief enough to make it doable for me.
The story kept me listening and eager to hear what happened next. Warrior Music may have been slightly out of my comfort zone, but I'm very glad I read it.
I was given this audio book by the author/narrator. All thoughts are my own.

Bayside Heat is classic Melissa Foster. Her characters are rich in personal drive and respect for themselves and their mates. Serena and Blake are characters we've been watching for the last several books. They have each acknowledged their attraction to each other, but Blake refused to act on it. Serena is finally giving up on ever getting to be with him even though her friends keep telling her that he is very interested in her. She decides to be strong and leave for her dream job in interior design. The threat of her leaving may finally force his hand (and other body parts) to give into his desire for her.
Serena may have to give up either the job she's always waited for or the man she's always waited for. How can she possibly choose? You'll just have to read it to find out!

I listened to the audio version of this book. I really like Becky Barker's books. Back in His Arms dealt with many different topics. There was distrust, attraction, parenthood, ranching, deceit, lots of family, kidnapping, sex and romance. The story all took place inside the boundaries of a very challenged marriage.
The distrust between Rand and Terra and the eventual rebuilding of that trust was the basis of the story. There were lots of unknowns involved in their relationship and the bringing to light those details was key to the healing of the marriage. A parent's love for their child was strong throughout the book and the character of their daughter, Mindy, was just adorable.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

I listened to the audio version of these two books. Barbara Goss has helped bring me back to Historical Romance. There's a good amount of Christian thrown in with the plot. Her stories have interesting characters and plots.
Neither of these twin brothers were looking for love. The heroines basically fell into their laps and worked their way into their hearts by mistake.
I'll have to admit that I was more partial to Rex's story. It just seemed to flow a little better to me. Thanks to Ms. Goss for two more entertaining stories!

This audio book was a cute, clean romance of people finding love on a matchmaking cruise at Christmas. The two main characters aren't actually there to find love. Natalie is there on a writing job and Shawn works for the cruise line. Their attraction is immediate, but ill fated. Their lives are headed in opposite directions and they want completely different things for their lives. But when they find love...can they really pass it up?

Another Barbara Goss audio book that I just loved! She does such a good job with characterization and plot that you are transported back in time. Although Leila was meant to be another man's wife, she falls for the big lawman, Dan McCall. Dan's sure not looking for a wife, but he's having a hard time putting Leila off when she wants to be with him. His morals are strong as he slowly falls for the woman he rescued.
There is danger, love, friendship and growing intimacy in this delightful story. The narration by R. William James lends the perfect gruffness and masculinity to it.

Sierra Blake has returned home to Mill Hollows, Virginia. She's lost her job as a hotel marketing executive. She knew getting romantically involved with the son of the franchise owner was a bad idea. Turning down his marriage proposal left Sierra updating her resume and needing a change of scenery. Returning to the small football-loving town located in view of the Blue Ridge Parkway is definitely a change of scenery from the sultry heat and water sport enthusiast city of Tampa.

I listened to the audio version of this book. This was a good, short, easy-to-read story. The characters were likable and easy to relate to. I loved the bi-play between Sierra and her sister. Sisters sometimes make it hard to love them... Sierra came back to town with a secret. She broke up with her boyfriend, but hasn't told anyone. Wes is a great guy and the attraction between the two is instantaneous. He is only in town temporarily, but he may change his mind. Until he finds out Sierra's secret. Betrayal is something he might not be able to get around. Can Sierra get him to forgive her?
The narration honestly wasn't one of my favorite. That may be just me. Everybody else seemed to love it.
