As a nymph living in exile among humans, Clio has picked up all sorts of unique survival skills. But pilfering magic from the Underworld's deadliest spell weavers? Not so much. Unfortunately, that's exactly what she has to do to earn a ticket back home. Conning her way into the Underworld may have gone pretty well, but now she's got a new problem. His name is Lyre, and he's a sinfully alluring incubus, a skilled spell weaver, and the only thing standing between her and stealing some damn magic.

Nothing waorse than an airhead heroine, too stupid to live as a character. I personally dislike having to read about a lead female character that could double as a female "Frank Spencer"! At every turn, you just want to shout out 'you stupid bint!'.... Been a while since I last disliked a character so much!

Haughty Lady Helen Radney is one of London's most beautiful women, and the daughter of a duke, but her sharp tongue has frightened away most of her suitors. When her father gambles away his fortune, the duke's only chance for recouping his losses lies in marrying off Lady Helen to any man wealthy enough to take a bride with nothing to recommend her but a lovely face and an 800-year-old pedigree.

"In here," he said, pushing on the skin above my heart, "you're 10 below zero. And you're closer to death than I am." My name is Parker. My body is marked with scars from an attack I don't remember. I don't want to remember. I choose to live my life by observation, not through experience. While people are laughing and kissing and connecting, I'm in the corner. Watching them live. I'm indifferent to everything, everyone. The only emotion I feel with any kind of depth is annoyance, and I feel it often.

The McCready Family Funeral Home and Bait Shop has crickets running rampant in the store and hot sauce in the Snack Shack's ketchup bottles. But as the county coroner, Frankie has enough on her plate without worrying about the increasingly mean pranks being played at her family's business. And the arrival of Sheriff Eric Linden, both devastatingly attractive and painfully taciturn, is enough to push her over the edge.

love the new book....but the narrator ruined it for me. being a Yoruba speaker and understanding the language, it was extremely jarring to have someone mangle the language in a way that makes it clear the narrator doesn't understand what she's saying.
if I didn't know the "foreign" language used, i think I'd have enjoyed the book more.
I hope the next book gets narrated by a dual speaker of English and Yoruba, as it would make an amazing difference....may yet get the e-book version in order to enjoy the book as it should be.
Also, had to listen to the book at 1.4x narration speed, just to have a normal pace!

I was a top-notch Were agent for the secret paranormal Council and happily living in Chicago, where I had everything I needed - a gym membership, season tickets to the Cubs, and Dwayne - my gay Vampyre best friend. Going back now would mean facing the reason I'd left, and I'd rather chew my own paw off than deal with Hank. Hank the Tank Wilson was the six-foot-three, obnoxious, egotistical, perfect-assed, best-sex-of-my-life Werewolf who cheated on me and broke my heart.

this book is not for you if you're looking for intelligent, well thought out plots and cliff hanger scenes.
if you're however, looking for something light and fluffy to pass the time, this book will suffice. it's fluffy enough that I'm sure to get the next in the series - the sheer incongruity of the plot is very good for clearing my mind of serious and weight matters! Be warned though: if you're OCD about sequence and believability and actually want meaty characters in a book, there are numerous opportunities in the book that wil cause you to grunt in disbelief or tear your hair out!

My name is Venus. I'm a 200-year old killing machine and I'm trading in my daggers and sword for a sparkly dress and an obscene swimsuit. Tiny strips of Lycra are not my typical battle wear, but when in Oklahoma... Armed with a fairly decent attitude, two debatably heterosexual insane old ladies, a woman I'd wanted to kill less than eight hours ago, and the possible love of my undead life, I'm in over my head with this. Of course I have no clue what this is going to entail, but that's never stopped me before.

if Jessica Almassy wasn't going to be the narrator, perhaps a tried and tested narrator like Robyn Miles should have done the narration. I'm on my 3rd restart of the book and can't manage to get past chapter 2!
the narrator tries a little too hard and having different voices for well known/ loved characters was really quite jarring! even at 1.25x speed, the reading was unsatisfying and distracted from enjoying the story.
