This was a good read. It took a minute to get used to the constant switching between the character Beth and Author Liz, but once that rhythm flowed, I was sucked in. I predicted some of it, but definitely not all. I liked how this author spun the mindset of each character. Good read.

From the first chapter, the narrator paused to ask somebody in the background "if they were finished" and then continued narrating. I literally laughed out loud. Otherwise, she did a good job narrating. Both stories were entertaining, but the second one was very short. I hated that Dez in the first story was so weak for Rock because she was accepting a lot of garbage activity from him while pretending as though she wasn't putting up with it. Eventually, her careless actions caught up with her as did his, and I just didn't like how things unfolded. Fortunately, it was a well written story either way, so kudos to Brenda Hampton. I enjoyed the second story as well, but as I said, it was very short compared to the first one. It was an interesting twist on how things ended there, but it felt anticlimactic to me. Overall, combined, they were good reads. At any rate. It was a good listen.

As usual, Alexandria created characters that make you fall in love with them and want them to succeed in love and life in general. Ryan and Angie were both perfectly flawed, as well as the supporting cast, but they all made sense together. She chose the perfect narrators for this and although I've never been a fan of the Louisiana accept, Sean Crisden's voice did it justice. Great book.

This one started off a little slowly for my taste, then picked up and ended on an awkward note for me. However, like most Carl Weber books, I still enjoyed it, and I actually go the feel like the Hudson family could become another series family like his Family Business series. I felt like the ending left a few things open ended, but maybe could be spoken of in another installment if there is one.

I wished there was a little more interaction between Ricky and India to solidify their feelings for each other more than was noted. It seemed like she was spending more time and building a bond with his child than with him. Otherwise, I appreciated the surrounding stories and character development. A few predictable plot twists, but entertaining none the less.

There will be no holding back, no biting of the tongue, and best believe the gloves are coming off when five childhood friends take you through the everyday life of living as a female in the hood. This was a good book. Even though the title didn't really ring true for the married people in the book, I just chalked it up to a reversal of Housewives of "wherever" type thing where there are more single people than married ones on the show. I liked the way the story fluctuated to the point where I wasn't sure who would end up with who in the end. Some people got a happy ending, and some didn't, but it all worked out sensibly in my opinion. I enjoyed it. The narrator wasn't a good fit for this book in my opinion. She was monotone and didn't convey the emotions I could hear that the script dictated.

They take on the streets of St. Louis by using extreme force, and by surrounding themselves with ghetto girls who love to fulfill their manly needs. Cydney is well aware of Isaac's adulterous ways, but she has plenty of skeletons buried in her closet. Her motto is: if he can do it, I can do it better. Not only does she attempt to do it better, she seeks revenge by giving up the goodies to Miguel.

This was a good read and there were definitely a lot of ups and downs between Sydney and Issac. A lot of things that may be unforgivable for some, found a way to be come forgivable and different times in the relationship, only to be revisited again. Some things that I predicted to happen, didn't happen, and I kind of wish they did. The ending may have been one that some readers really wanted, but it wasn't what I was looking for. At any rate, some of the advice given was actually good advice for couples who may find their relationships in trouble or heading towards it. Good book.
