It's a nice twist on an ends times virus. I enjoyed the book, and the performance was very good. my biggest problem with the book is character development. After 3 books I would expect to have some type of feelings or connections to the characters. However, I didn't. Characters seem a bit bland to be honest.

Missing good characters, character development, and a story that grabs you.

It was a challenge to get through it. It's not that I didn't enjoy the book, I just didn't care. Nothing really grabbed my attention.

Why we think it’s a great listen: A performance so poignant, we gave Bronson Pinchot (yes, Balki from Perfect Strangers) our inaugural Narrator of the Year award.... In the monsoon season of 1968-69 at a fire support base called Matterhorn, located in the remote mountains of Vietnam, a young and ambitious Marine lieutenant wants to command a company to further his civilian political ambitions. But two people stand in his way.

I enjoyed the book, and made me really think about the Vietnam War. Some issues are brought to attention very well, and he paints an excellent picture of what these young men went through.

However, I just didn't feel the characters. I didn't think there was much that set them apart from each other, nor did I really care about them.
