An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

Pretty good book, but can Audible create a section of good books that do not contain any Social Justice Warrior nonsense. I have noticed too much left wing nonsense just accepted without question by so many authors. Even the authors I love. Makes it hard to finish the books. Ugh.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I am a big John Sandford, Lucas Davenport fan and very picky about books of that genre. I finally found another great author. I recommend this book!

Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, one of the better narrators.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There are some emotional scenes in this book, very touching.

For the handful of scattered Jedi, survival is imperative if the light side of the Force is to be protected and the galaxy somehow, someday reclaimed. Yet more important still is the well-being of the twin infants, Leia and Luke Skywalker, the children of Anakin and his doomed bride, Padme Amidala. Separated after Padme's death, they must be made safe at all costs, lest the hope they represent for the future be turned to horror by the new Sith regime, and the unspeakable power of the dark side.

Would you listen to Star Wars: Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader again? Why?

Yes. Luceno didn't disappoint. Would like the unabridged version.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Star Wars: Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader?

The best part of the book was the inner dialogue of Vader. I never realized how much pain he was going through inside the suit.

Any additional comments?

Narrator was fantastic.

What did you love best about Star Wars: Darth Plagueis?

The political intrigue rivals Song of Ice and Fire.

Any additional comments?

I was only looking for a Star Wars book because of movie coming out soon. This is first Star Wars book I gave a chance and it was a great surprise. I am going to seek out more Luceno books. One of the best books of this genre I ever listened to/read...

What disappointed you about Aftermath: Star Wars?

Felt like I was listening to a Saturday morning cartoon. I only lasted an hour into it.

What was most disappointing about Chuck Wendig’s story?

I am sure he was limited in what he could tell in this story. Maybe this is for younger readers?

How could the performance have been better?

Narrator tried his best, but story just poor.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

No.

Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

Would you listen to Gone Girl again? Why?

Yes, any book I really like I listen to again. I am a big John Sandford fan and I have listened to all 23 Prey books at least twice each.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Nick, because I relate to him. Had same type of parents.

Any additional comments?

I don't usually like female authors, but this Gillian Flynn is wicked, dark, and brilliant. She is going to be a huge name.
