Literally could not listen beyond chapter 1. The story seemed weak as well. Can’t believe this was released as an audible book.

Story had potential but just lost development and performer was extremely dramatic. I began to focus on how bad she was rather than the undeveloped story.

He had nothing to recommend him but his smile, and she was surely too old, and had too much commonsense, to be beguiled by a smile... Miss Abigail Wendover's efforts to detach her spirited niece Fanny from a plausible fortune-hunter are complicated by the arrival in Bath of Miles Caverleigh. The black sheep of his family, a cynical, outrageous care-for-naught with a scandalous past - that would be a connection more shocking even than Fanny's unwise liaison with his nephew!

First of all, the narrator voices too “mature” for the characters in this book. Secondly, after chapter three, I gave up and marked the book as finished because I didn’t really care about the direction of the story or the development of the characters.
