Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

I did miss the original narrator Neil Kaplan. P.J. Ochlan is not as able to create distinct and separate voices. However, he uses accents to overcome some of this. I am glad that Nine had a decent role in this story, but I miss John, Sam and Six a lot. The new team is great and I am looking forward to the next book.

M. Cassidy - Luke Brodie had heard the name before, some novice bounty hunter working Seattle, catching tricky skips with more success than a newcomer should expect. But the dark curls, sparkly top, and impressive cleavage were not what Brodie had pictured. Emma Cassidy is tough, smart, and sexy as hell. She's also popping up a step ahead of him every time he's close to the capture he wants most - and there's no room for learning on the trail of this monster.

As it began I wasn't certain I could finish this one. Clearly a very dark and possibly gruesome tale. But I made it through. Helpful that this was a mature crime mystery that didn't require me to have to put up with another contrived sexual encounter. This book moved along at a fast pace and I liked the main characters. This might have a sequel... Only minor questions left unanswered. But it doesn't require more to be said. It's a good ending.
