The title of this book and the high reviews pulled me in- finally, a way to help control yelling which I knew in my heart to be counterproductive. That issue gets tackled firmly and effectively early on in the book. But then Dr. Markham takes it up a notch and gives you the foundation and fundamental tools you need to be the best parent you've always wanted to be for your child. Listen with an open mind and open heart, it can change your life and most importantly, the lives of your children.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, one in nine Americans works in sales. Every day more than 15 million people earn their keep by persuading someone else to make a purchase. But dig deeper and a startling truth emerges: Yes, one in nine Americans works in sales. But so do the other eight. Whether we’re employees pitching colleagues on a new idea, entrepreneurs enticing funders to invest, or parents and teachers cajoling children to study, we spend our days trying to move others.

It made me feel empowered. It made me feel capable. It made me feel invigorated and excited to put it's principals to work. I listened at 1.5X speed and Daniel Pink's narration was flawless. I enjoyed it thoroughly and highly recommend it.
