They are not human. They are not natural. They are not friendly. At a research station in Antarctica, five of the world's top scientists have been brought together to solve one of the greatest mysteries in human history. Their subject, however, is anything but human. Deep beneath the ice, the submerged ruins of a lost civilization hold the key to the strange mutations that each scientist has encountered across the globe. When a series of sound waves trigger the ancient organisms, a new kind of evolution begins. A long-extinct life form is reborn.

I think that it would be best to read this book then listen to it. I was not impressed and got bored with the narrator because each character had the same voice and tone thru out the entire book. I did listen to the entire book because I was interested in the outcome.

Numerous people go missing and the local police don't seem to talk to each other and have no clue. I did like the book but I think there is a lot of fluff wording that was added and because of that it did became boring at times. I actually paused this one to listened to another book, eventually going back to complete this one. The characters were set up well but again a little to much fill. The ending of the book you could almost guess who the killer was and I was not surprised at how it ended.

Daniel is desperate for a job. When someone slides a note under his door offering him the groundskeeper’s position at an old estate, it seems too good to be true. Alarm bells start ringing when he arrives at Craven Manor. The mansion’s front door hangs open, and leaves and cobwebs coat the marble foyer. It’s clear no one has lived there in a long time. But an envelope waits for him inside the doorway. It contains money and promises more.

This book came up as a suggestion because I was looking for something different then my typical read. I figured if it was slow or just plain really bad, I could return it. Well, I didn't return the book. I just bought book 2 so I can continue on with the story. The story was very well written, with great characters and a little bit of the ghostly kind of characters as well. You will not be disappointed at all with this story. The narrator did a very good job. Aimee Bruneau is now my favorite female narrator.

FBI analyst Kassidy Bishop is assigned to the "'For You' Killer" task force after a series of sadistic murders bearing the same signature arise in different parts of the country. The homicides are both calculated and savage, occurring in different states, but bearing the same signature: the words "for you" scribbled at each crime scene. The case chills Kassidy, bringing back memories of her own encounter with a violent criminal five years earlier.

With a Scary Ghost dad and live son that is just as devious as the dead father you will be cheering for the half Sister to get her revenge. The characters in the books continue to grow and change in order to overcome the difficult jobs they have accepted. I surely hope there are more books to come with this series, I am absolutely hooked.

It was like listening to a movie playing in the living room while you are trying to eat fast at the dining room table to get back to the movie. You could follow along with the story line and sound effects that actually made me jump at times. I highly recommend this "Original",
