I am annoyed with Brad Thor. he makes the protagonist Scot Harvath make rookie mistakes to extend the story a few more chapters. Scot is described as an ex seal team 6 operative that is the president's adopted son. yet he misses a tail not once but twice in this story. it feels artificial and disingenuous to who Harvath is. his home has an easily hackable alarm system and in a final insult he is unable to capture a drunk operative alive. I mean just how big a screw up is Scot Harvath and if he is why is he still running counter terrorism ops.

gabriel Alonso is made out to be an assassin who can paint and run an intelligence agency. he penetrates ISIS but the terror cell leader ends up discovering the agent and blows up half of US in the process. what a let down from the hero of your novel. a bit funny actually.

Most of the action happens over civilized women having civilized conversations over tea. but the narration is like a soothing balm.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The narration from the author sounds awfully arrogant and irritating.

Would you ever listen to anything by Dalton Fury again?

Not sure

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Ari Fliakos?

George Guidall

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Delta action stuff is pretty good. And the author describes the various guns like they were his siblings.

Any additional comments?

The plot goes all over the place and you can't hold onto a coherent story line. The novel does not get into stride until the last 40 minutes - but the author just completely forgets to tie up loose ends and leaves a lot of sub plots unfinished.
