Eighteen-year-old Charlee Parker met the love of her life in a parking lot-a leggy brunette with a valedictorian medal hanging from her rear-view mirror and an attitude as biting as a Boston winter. Alexandra Woodson was guarded, a 19-year-old orphan set on a bright future in hospitality administration. She never imagined an art student with a penchant for cheesy pick-up lines and stealing parking spaces would crack her rigid exterior and claim her heart. For four years, theirs was an enviable love - evergreen and growing. Unbreakable... until it broke.

When it comes to finding dirt, Evan Reed is the best in the business. She’s a “dust-buster” - a paid operative hired by political campaigns to vet candidates for national office. She’s also a foulmouthed and cranky ex-Catholic - attempting to raise a 14-year-old daughter on her own. When she is hired to investigate the background of a squeaky-clean and charismatic junior senator who might just be the next president, the last thing she expects to uncover is a murder.

This audio book has a similar feel to Hoosier Daddy. There is no question it is the same author. Overall, the story is good. I didn’t love the characters - they could use a bit more development, but I don’t regret buying it. If you want a light hearted, not too serious mystery with a lesbian twist, it is worth giving it a listen. Christine Williams’ narration is excellent as always.

But when her dangerous ex-husband evades law enforcement, she fears that no amount of running will ever make her safe again. Two women are determined to keep Lucinda's past at bay - the mysterious young nurse living on the other side of Lucinda's duplex, who won't even tell Lucinda her name, and Ardie Brown, an ex-marine who's recently moved back to Reverie herself. It's hard for Lucinda to trust either one; it's even harder to admit that she's falling for both of them.

The recording quality was marginal at best. Some parts sounded like an old cassette tape that was worn out. The actual narration was very good.

The story was good but way, WAY different from what I expected- not in a bad way, just different. Give it a listen. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

I really enjoyed the story - it was great. The characters were well developed. The narration was not bad at all, but the editing was almost laughable. You could tell every single time they dubbed in something. Also, many, many parts sounded like they were recorded in a shipping container! Overall, the storyline made up for the editing, but it could have been so much better.

Sorry to say the narration was lacking. The USA English accents were just odd at best. It was difficult to tell who was “talking” and it was a poor imitation of a Southeast US accent, but the story was in California. The story wasn’t bad.
