Kynan McGrath is all things alpha, sexy, smart, and a security genius. Taking over Jameson Force Security has kept him busy and he’s managed to steer clear of his past. A past that haunts him with what ifs and questions of simply what happened. He’s somewhat content with his life right now. He has the perfect balance between his job and his play time. Playing at the Wicked Horse has satisfied his need for mindless, uncommitted escapades that have spilled over into his life and he seems to love the no strings attached lifestyle… that is until she comes back.
Joslyn Meyers needs help and she is desperate. She knows without a doubt that Kynan is the only one that can provide the protection that she needs. She has a stalker and she can’t shake him. This job requires a special type of security, one she can trust. Although the past is bound to resurface, she would rather deal with it, than succumb to the evil that is haunting her.
The Good: I’m always looking forward to the next read from Sawyer and as usual she did not disappoint with Kynan’s story. It was all around good.
The Bad: Kynan was such a jerk in the beginning. I was so ready to punch him!
The Ugly: Being scared for your life is never a good thing. For someone to think they have a right to ruin your life for their pleasure is sick!
I absolutely loved this story! Kynan was such a dirty talking beast that I had to watch my facial expressions while listening. This read is hot, suspenseful, and drama at its best! Kynan and Joslyn are made for each other. They are magic and untapped energy ready to explode. I could feel his struggle with falling again, but he didn’t have to treat her so bad in the beginning. That was cringe worthy, but necessary to bring life to his emotions. I loved when Joslyn fought back and put him in his place. He wanted so bad to punish her with his lust. He wanted to consume her and his ache for her was tangible. I am just awestruck that Sawyer continues to bring tales that are so complete and don’t leave you questioning anything. I’ve never listened to any of her books and felt empty. I’ve been left wanting, but never unsatisfied. Shane and Imogen were believable as these characters and they did not skimp on the emotional aspect, the longing, and the desperation of Kynan and Joslyn. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series. I know without a doubt that it will be a solid 5 Star Read as this one is.

This conclusion of Peter and Sarah’s story was really good. I enjoyed how Anna answered questions and of course intertwined all the characters for the Twist Me and Capture Me Trilogies. Drama, suspense, and lots of hot sex. Peter was obsessed with Sarah and she tamed his beast perfectly. There were times that I wanted just a tad bit more, but this series was solid, dangerous, and edge of your seat craziness. The ending of their story is truly the beginning of living a normal life free from chaos and having to watch their backs. At times, I wonder if Peter’s obsession of Sarah was rooted in love only because he treated her as if he owned her. There were moments of tenderness at the time that they could pause and breath, however it seemed as though Sarah was scared of him and that she went along with his every whim because of her fear. I know there was love because of the times there was danger, the thought of losing each other seemed to freak them both out. Sebastian York always brings life to the stories he Narrates. He and Tracy Marks brought such life to this story. It was a very exciting and intense listen. There were parts that I didn’t understand that could’ve been resolved if someone had just relayed information. I didn’t expect this conclusion to steer this way. I thought it would have more to do with Julian and his revenge. Still, the storyline was good and I’m happy that all the couples found their new normal. A Solid 4 Star Read! Elizabeth Fitch aka Abigail Lowery was raised by a Mother that controlled every aspect of her life. From the time she woke up until she went to sleep, every minute was planned. She had enough! She wanted freedom and normalcy. She wanted to do what other girls do. Shopping, parties…just hanging out. She decides to just go for it and gets much more than she bargained for. Now she is fighting for her very life after witnessing a murder that just so happened to involve the Russian Mafia.
Brooks Gleason wants to get to know the stranger who stays to herself and doesn’t talk to anyone. She lives on the outskirts of town and she holds many secrets. He is determined to weave his way into her life and show her that life is more than short trips into town with your head down and covered so that no one notices you. Being the Police Chief, his interest is peaked, and he wants to see what makes the stranger tick. What he did not count on was finding out that not only does she have secrets, she is also the most beautiful woman he has ever seen.
The Good: I’ve always loved Nora Roberts. She never disappoints in twisting an intriguing tale of mystery, suspense, and love. This went above my imagination.
The Bad: It’s hard to put it into words without giving spoilers, but I will say her Mother should be ashamed of herself.
The Ugly: The dealings of the Russian Mafia are not pretty. I was literally scared for her while listening to this read.
Full of suspense, love, and heightened emotions. This book took me on such an adventure while listening. I held my breath during the suspense, curious during the mystery, laughing during the subtle hints of comedy, and finally, I was giddy when love bloomed. This “listen” kept me enraptured. It had everything I needed to be caught up in this tale. The heroine was not ordinary or typical. She was beautiful yet smart…recluse but, feisty and able to defend herself. She was a thinker and a creator, yet she was sexy and giving of herself when she finally let down her walls. Brooks was simply amazing. Patient, kind, and truly an Alpha who did not take no for an answer. He wanted to help her and be on the front lines with her. Confronting her past demons and willing to fight alongside her. He loved her….no questions, no doubts, no hang ups…. true love plain and simple. The Narrator brought such life to this story. It was easy to listen and follow. I sometimes forgot that this was fiction. Thank you so much Nora for once again giving me a journey that was exciting, twisty, and simply brilliant. 5 Stars!!

Kensey Lyons has not had an easy upbringing. Her stepfather is on death row and her Mother married him to escape her reality. Rumors, misconceptions, lies, and betrayal have been the story of her life, but to her credit she takes it all in stride, picks her battles, and refuses to let her past define her.

She knows who she is, and she will not let anyone intimidate her and she will not play games or answer to anyone. One thing that she can’t shake is who her stepfather is …a serial killer …. dark, unfeeling, and unbeknownst to her, tied to a person in her present. She has made it a point to never get in too deep, but, the new guy in town who gave a bad first impression is making that impossible.

Blake Mercier is a successful business man whose main goal is to protect his investments. Having Kensey work at his most recent acquisition has him on edge. He’s heard several rumors and myths that seem believable at first, but he must admit that there’s something about her.

He’s intrigued and when he makes his move, his plan is to remain unattached. He never thought he would fall, but Kensey quickly changed his rules, made him vulnerable, and smoothed out his rough edges.

The Good:
I was pleasantly surprised because I am so used to Suzanne Wright’s PNR stories and she nailed it with this read. I loved the drama and the suspense of the story. Not knowing who the stalker was until later was brilliant. I guessed wrong up until that moment.

The Bad:
Having people spread rumors about you can be hurtful no matter your age. To always have to defend yourself and be in the presence of the very people spreading the rumors can suck.

The Ugly:
The stalker turning out to be a person you trusted is very ugly. Not only that, they are just as sick if not more than her stepfather.

Worth the Read?
I normally don’t like stalker reads, however, Suzanne did an excellent job in keeping the suspense alive. These two characters were passion enhanced with adrenaline. They ran hot and cold, but never lost their spark. The very definition of magnetic and I could not get enough.

The trust, the openness, and Blake’s dirty mouth kept me on edge. I simply loved them. Love is a crazy thing and will make you step so far outside of your box that you have no clue what you’re doing. He wanted her safe, she wanted to spread her wings. They have to find a way to meet in the middle, but danger is so much closer than they think. A 5 Star EBR Must Read!

Sam is a very strong and gifted Vampire. She is steadfast in her abilities and very confident of herself. She’s given the opportunity to compete for a position to be in the Grand High Master Vampire’s private army. That doesn’t sit well with the other commanders. As a matter of fact, one in particular tries to make it hard for her only to find that she is not easily bent.

Jared, is not happy that a woman is in the running to be part of the Master Vampire’s army. He is not confident in her abilities and when she’s offered to be his co-commander, he is livid. Being in command requires concentration, strength, and the mind of a true killer of the enemy…so, why can’t he keep his mind off Sam and her ability to slay his soul?

The Good:
I haven’t listened to a book that I didn’t like from Suzanne. Although I love her Phoenix and Mercury Pack, she has captured my heart with Vampires.

The Bad:
I did not appreciate the way that Jared treated Sam at first. Why do women have to show their abilities to a man to get them to believe them? It’s ridiculous, but I will say that it was fun the way Sam showed him. LOL.

The Ugly:
Sam’s sire was the ugly part of this story for me. He took advantage of her gift. I’m glad she didn’t let his “control” keep her from her destiny.

Worth the Read?
I simply enjoyed this read. It was fun and quirky with lots of drama. Sam was the ultimate in Girl Power and she didn’t let anyone tell her different. She was bold and unyielding, and she was strong minded instead of bull headed.

Their chemistry was unmatched. She kept her feelings in check more than Jared and that was a breath of fresh air because usually the female is the weak one when it comes to falling in love. She was a bit stubborn which added comedic relief to the story.

The danger that comes knocking has the potential to make them both lose their lives. They quickly learn that they don’t want to be apart. An epic battle ensues, and, in the end, there is a question of survival, but it’s so obvious that one can’t live without the other. A 5 Star EBR Must Read!

Dr. Sarah Watkins is smart, compassionate, and brilliant in her field. The work she does as a scientist is world renowned. When her Fiancé’ dies unexpectedly, she is left alone and confused. The circumstances don’t seem right. Yes, he was a diabetic, but he himself was a doctor and knew how to take care of himself. When a government agent comes around and starts asking questions, she knows something is amiss. After going through some of his belongings, Sarah comes across a thumb drive that may have clues to what her Fiancé was working on before he died. She needs answers and the only place to get them is at the lab where she worked.
Murhder ... powerful, alpha, vampire. Expelled from the Black Dagger Brotherhood, he’s haunted by visions of a female vampire that he couldn’t save. His plan was to rescue her, but all missions don’t go as planned and he had to make a difficult choice. After receiving letters from the female, he solicits an audience with Wrath to ask for help to find her. He can’t go on trying to figure out what happened to the female and her unborn young and he is determined to see how she has fared. What he finds breaks his heart and he is determined to find her young and save him from her same fate.
The Good: I didn’t think this series could get any better, but in true J.R form, Murhder’s story is gut wrenching perfection!
The Bad: I was pissed at the Brothers for not giving Murhder a chance. They chose to believe that he was truly insane. They treated him like crap.
The Ugly: Although this was a story of fiction, the practice of testing medicine, cures, diseases, etc. on any species is deplorable.
I can’t say enough about this listen! Murhder and Sarah were simply made for each other. They were magnetic and tense. He was the strength she needed to keep pushing and searching for a way to help the young in Murhder’s care and she was the gentle spirit that allowed him to feel something other than hurt, regret, and anguish. He was in awe of her and she was truly fascinated by him. J.R Ward is a genius and when you read or listen to her words, you become enraptured by the essence of these characters. The Black Dagger Brotherhood have been around for a long time and with each new release, it’s as if you’re having a reunion with old friends. They come to life with every story and they each have a magnificent story to tell. Just when I thought Vishous was my favorite Brother, Murhder cast a spell on me that will not be broken any time soon. The way this was written shows us why J. R. Ward is a true MVP. I cried, I laughed, I felt sorrow, held my breath in one moment and hitched it in the next. If I could give this book a million stars, I would! An EBR Must Read! 5 Brilliant Stars!

India Baptiste is in a serious bind. Her Sister has been taken and she has to pay to get her back. Known for her abilities in the world of Poker, she sets up a game with the odds in her favor…that is, until he shows up. Spoiling her plans and taking her two steps back, this man is all kinds of wrong. She has to stay focused to get her Sister back. His presence is overwhelming, and he doesn’t take no for an answer. How is she supposed to win when she feels like he knows her every move?
Jericho Forge is a beast! In all sense of the word, he is cutthroat, clear, concise, and when he sets his sights on Indy, he is determined to get her. Not really because he wants her, but she is the Queen in this chess game of life, and he is determined to get his “checkmate” moment with a person he considers an enemy. Knowing just how much his archnemesis wants her, that is the very reason he takes her to be his. That is until he gets a taste…
The Good: The suspense in this story was nail biting. Frustrating at times, but good overall.
The Bad: I love a story that is not only good, but when the narrators bring it to life, it makes it that much more. The female was good, but somewhat annoying with the dragging of her words. Every moment seemed to be read dramatically even when it wasn’t called for.
The Ugly: Using people as pawns is so awful. Even though I loved this story, the thought of people getting used this way is just plain ugly!
This was my first Meghan March novel and I must say that I enjoyed it. Drama, suspense, and lust were paired nicely and although there was a cliffhanger, it was good. It made me wonder what would happen next. This listen was short enough that the next book could’ve been paired with this one to make one book, so that was disappointing. This story was solid and I loved the tense attraction between the two main characters. India was annoying at times, but it somehow worked in this story. Jericho was true Alpha personified and fierce. His background is a mystery and hopefully there will be more development of his character…. the “why” of who he is and what made him needs to be answered. Overall this was a good listen! Oren Demetri can surely hold his own. He has always followed his own path and answered to no one. He makes his money, pays his debts, and has his loyalties. He falls in love with Angelina Costello and he must get permission to marry her. Angelina is not an ordinary pursuit; she is the niece of Carmine Costello …a Dom with power and notoriety. Angelina is like a daughter to Carmine and he will protect her as if she were his most prized possession. She’s in love and therefore he must ask Oren for his loyalty …his very life. Oren knows this game well and he’s willing to play and pay the cost to have Angelina …and what a cost he paid.
The Good: In true Aleatha fashion this story was solid and left no stone unturned. It kept my attention from the start and Brian Pallino did an amazing job bringing Oren to life.
The Bad: It’s really hard to describe the bad without giving spoilers, however, I will say that life is tough and being caught up in the life of crime makes it worse, especially when you try to maintain some sense of normalcy for your family.
The Ugly: The Mob life is ugly. The things you must sacrifice, the danger, and the breaking of your spirit is just awful.
Oren and Angelina were perfection. I could not get enough of them and after listening to Infidelity, this made it so much better. There were questions answered and I now have a new perspective of Oren’s relationship with his Son. The narrator brought such life and realness to this story. The Mob life is scary, and I felt every bit of it. Scared, panicked, remorseful, sad. What are you willing to give up to have the love of your life, the family you desire, and the respect of one of the most powerful crime families in existence? How do you not give into the temptation to try and run so that you can start over? How would you feel to not be in control of the decisions you make for your family? Aleatha captured the essence of being in the world of gangsters. Murder, mystery, love, infidelity, and sacrifice. Such an amazing story from Oren’s POV! A Solid 5 Stars

London is a criminal psychologist that takes on the minds of twisted criminals and helps prepare them for trial as well as preparing herself to testify, whether for or against them. Her latest patient is a serial killer that bends her will to do the right thing and obscures her ability to stay professional. He is truly sadistic and has a rhyme to his reason. For all the right reasons, she tries to analyze him and winds up finding a lot out about herself.
Grayson has a plan and played the right way; he will get what he wants…he always does. His latest project must be executed perfectly so that he can finish this sadistic game and show London exactly who she is…. just like him.
I enjoyed listening to this duet. It was sexy, adventurous, and suspenseful. I did want a little more resistance from London, but that didn’t take away from the story. London is very vulnerable after she recalls things from her past. She knows she is taking a chance with her career by getting involved with Grayson, but she must face her past because he won’t allow anything but her cooperation. Grayson is a true Alpha through and through. There is no room for error and in his plan to dominate London and bring her to the realization of who she is. A dark, psychological thriller with lots of close calls, mystery, and lust. Very enjoyable! 4 Stars!

Letty Dellinger is a force of nature that is free spirited and ever so comfortable and confident in who she is. She kicks butt and takes names. She knows exactly who she is, and she is not down for the bs! She is ready to transition into the next phase of her musical career. She’s tired of barely making ends meet and tired of the monotony of having no money and not knowing where her next meal is coming from. While celebrating her birthday, she meets a stranger who is down for whatever and takes her up on her offer of some downright kinky debauchery and no strings attached sex. What she didn’t count on was this stranger being a permanent fixture in her life.
She nicknamed him Shades and that’s ok because this should’ve been a one-night stand. The not so distant past collides with the future and all hell breaks loose. She wants to keep this a secret, but the attraction is so physical and it’s so much. It is a living, breathing entity that can’t be ignored. Being in her presence is constant torture. Watching her perform is breaking the pact and leaves no room to be ignored.
The Good: When an Author just writes and abandons righteousness, it leaves room for true expression. Kendall Grey has captured the very essence of what writing is all about. Freedom, lust, anger…it’s all here.
The Bad: The bad was oh so good. I could not get enough!
The Ugly: Friends not appreciating what is right in front of them and trying to ruin it for everyone. That’s simply not cool.
Letty and Shades were pure magic. Starting off as perfect strangers and connecting on a level so deep that they could not let this thing go. Kendall is a new to me Author and I loved every minute of this book. It is not for the faint at heart. This is raw, real, and on the surface. You can’t escape it even if you tried. She captures the very essence of what an Author should be. This book had no pressure and captured the true nature of what life is for a struggling artist and anyone who just simply lives. The average person won’t appreciate it. If you are not opened minded, you will not be able to inhale the nature of this read. It is too much for the simple mind. I laughed, I was angry, I was on the verge of tears, I was…. horny…Yes! Chills, lustful, hot as sin sex that will make you blush! If you’re able to stretch your imagination, you will enjoy every nook and cranny of this book. It’s certainly not for everyone, but I will always throw caution to the wind and take a chance on the taboo. This is an EBR Must Read that I give a well-deserved 5 Stars!!
