I never believed in superheroes. I certainly didn't believe I'd become one, or that strategically forming a harem of hot chicas and getting down with them to unlock my superpowers would be the key to my survival. Did I say my survival? I meant the universe's. No, really.... That's exactly what happened when I was taken to a galaxy of supers, thrown into a prison ship full of villains, and told it was up to me to stop them all.

This is the first book I have listened to in this genre, and I am now a fan. Jamie Hawke is an amazing writer and I was immediately hooked within the first 5 minutes. i want to say it was because of Justin's voice and performance but that is only half the reason.

The story is well developed with characters I'm itching to learn more about. Charm is a young girl with many layers whose curiosity took her to new levels. Breaker was a hottie and I can't wait to see how his life pans out in book 2. Twitch is a real baddie who kinda hold everything together. The end left me hanging but I am glad book 2 is available.

This was such a fun dirty little sci-fi that helped me make it through a snowed in weekend.

The cast was stellar and SBT is superb!

Have I already told you that I hate my boss today? Sexy as hell or not, this pompous, arrogant, ASSHOLE asked me to pick up his dry cleaning the second I walked through the door. Then he told me that I needed to take his Jaguar to a car wash that was ten miles outside of the city, but only after I needed to stand in a never-ending line to buy some type of limited, hundred-dollar watch. I honestly can't wait to see the look on his face two months from now when I tell him that I'm quitting his company and that he can kiss my ass.

I don't consider myself a blogger or even a good reviewer, BUT I can spot a great audiobook when I hear it. And Birthday Suit is the best audiobook production I've ever heard in the romance genre.

I am a huge fan of Lauren Blakely's writing and Birthday Suit reminded why I fall in love with every character she writes and every version of Friends to Lovers she spins. This particularly story gives all the feels and is bound to send you straight to Tingle Town after you visit its neighboring city Tearville because, yes there are teary moments.

What I love most about Birthday Suit is the production. When I say it has all the qualities of a radio drama, trust me, I tell no lies. With a cast of twelve amazing narrators, you are sure to embark on a journey that is like no other. In fact, after you listen to this book you'll by LIVING (not dying because that would suck) to seek out every other book each of the narrators who performed. And yes, you'll spend lots of money.

One last note, KINGSLY was my 2nd favorite character. Wait, no Jenny or is it Ginny? Wait no definitely.... oh well I cannot single out one.

Birthday Suit is PERFECTION and definitely needs to be nominated for an Audio in 2020. It is by far the best audiobook of 2019! I cannot wait to hear what else she accomplishes this year. The bar has been set!

OMG. What's not to like about this story? A good bad girl, with supernatural powers on tens, a hot guy and a few demons who want her.

Leia Stone knows how to write great scenes, with grit, humor and a little sexiness that doesn't overpower the story. Strong character development and the inclusion of a religious background had me captivated in chapter one.

Vanessa Moyen has the perfect voice for the characters. Good pacing, intonation and timing.

The only critique I have is that in at least two instances the wrong character name was mentioned. Probably a proofing oversight. However, it didn't take anything away from the story.

Char Brown is overweight and underappreciated. But at least she has a boyfriend and a job she enjoys. Wait, scratch that. He just broke up with her. Over text. And told her to lose weight. Overly self-conscious about herself and a classic introvert, Char isn’t sure what she’s got going for her anymore. But Darryl Drummond sure does, and he’s insistent that she’s worth more than she thinks. The only thing he likes more than wine is Char, and he’s not going to relent until she notices.

One night Char meets a guy who looked past everything Char thought about herself. He found beauty not only in her appearance, but her attitude. Of course the story takes us through some other difficulties, but the moral of the story is that we can't see what others see in us. And sometimes that can deter being open enough to allow relationships to grow. Once we give ourselves over to understanding that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and we don't have to change anything to be happy, then we can celebrate life.

Anticipating Temptation was a sweet and heartfelt romance that gave me hope and insight on how to be me, love me and be open to let someone love me again.

Xe was Char. She delivered this story with such emotion that I could almost feel as though she could relate to some of Char's circumstances. But of course because Xe is so talented it just seemed so natural.

And Xe's portrayal of Darryl!!!!!! Smokin, hawt cowboy. Yes Please!

Five stars all the way around.

It's so easy being best friends with a gorgeous, talented, charming guy. Said no woman ever. Except me. My friendship with Miller is a sure thing - he’s my plus one, my emergency contact, and my shoulder to lean on. He’s also been by my side helping me raise one helluva awesome kid who’s the center of my world. Nothing will change our easy breezy friendship. Until I have the bright idea to convince him to start a new band with me. Trouble is, our sizzling chemistry in the recording studio is getting harder to ignore, no matter how risky it might be.

It's Miller Time and I don't mean the beer. #Cheers

Before I get into my review, I will say that The Heartbreakers Series makes me feel good. It has the same vibe of The Big Rock Series, where I fell in love, lust and like with Blakely's writing and her sexy male heroes, but with amazing relationships with kids.

Once Upon a Sure Thing continues the story of the guys who made up the boy band The Heartbreakers. Miller is the brother whose hopes and dreams are to reunite the band. Unfortunately, it didn't happen. And now his new goal thanks to Campbell is to find the voice that will feed his need to make music. Enters 'Honey Lavender' lol AKA Ally, his best friend. Now, this is not a spoiler if you've read/listened to Once Upon a Good Time and I promise not to say more <wink>.

There's my intro, and now let's move on to the Top Six reasons why you must listen to this audiobook:

1. Only Blakely can write male POV's that make you laugh, cry, swoon, need a cold shower and possibly a Miller- this time I mean the beer and the guy :) SebYo again delivers a delicious aural screw of sexiness, humor and low lustful tones that correlate with everything I said above.
2. Jackson is one of the coolest teen kids I've met in a book. I love his relationship with Miller. Although Miller is his mentor through the 'Big Brother' program, you get such a deep bond between the two. It is written perfectly and yes, I may be rambling, but I love the varying family dynamics shown in OUAST.
3. Ally an Chloe - Gah, I cried at the end of the book. I won't say why, but I did. Chloe has been through pain in her life. At age eleven she is battling depression from loss and Ally, her aunt is there to pick up the pieces, and love and support her. Again, the relationship was written with passion that I can only wonder if Blakely has taken some of her personal experiences and weaved them into the story.
4. Ally's Career- Well shucks, hearing Andi Arndt portray a narrator in a book was just genius. LOL. Who better than her to play this role. Plus, Andi is so expressive, and the way Blakely describes how Ally preps for a book and her thoughts about narrating was nice to hear in fiction.
5. The Guest Voice - O M G is that? Why yes, yes, it is. EM (I don't want to spoil it) has a cameo appearance, so don't miss it. Having Andi and E together is like having coffee and wine with bacon (That's SebYo) lol
6. The Story - It's not JUST another Rom-Com. Again, this is so much more. I'm a huge fan of single parents, and Ally is raising her niece and Miller is shaping the life of a teen by being a mentor and supporting Jackson. My heart was happy with this story because again, the kids come first. Any good parent or parent representative understands this concept and I totally get that feeling when I listened to OUAST.

If you are looking for a fun, sexy Rom-Com with a 'HEART FULL' ending performed by the perfect cast of narrators, then look no further. Once Upon a Sure Thing is a Sure Thing!

That smoking hot one-night stand with a former rock star? Turns out, he's my son's new teacher. Oops. But I didn't know that the night I met Campbell. All I knew was he played my body the same way he played a guitar - like he owned it. My libido is still high-fiving me after being self-served for too many years, and we're both ready for another night or two of fun, especially since we don't just have chemistry in bed - we connect over everything. That is, until I learn he's the man who'll be coming to my house twice a week to teach my son the best music lessons money can buy.

Once upon a time, there was an author named Lauren Blakely, who loved to write about smart and sexy women and men and well the end. LOL Just kidding.

Because this is a Rom-Com, I'm going to make this review fit the theme. Ready? Ok. (In my cheer voice) Here are my top FIVE reasons why I loved this book:

Number 5 - Sebastian York says d*ck. Sorry Audible, his voice, Blakely's words, not mine. Just so you know, I'm a HUGE fan of that word and how he says it in books. Just sayin...

Number 4 - Sexy times took me straight to #TingleTown. It has been a while since I've visited, and I suppose it was time to retake up residence in my home on the cul-du-sac. Blakely knows how to spice it up and when I say SPICE I'm not talking Spice girls if ya know what I mean.

Number 3 - I love that Blakely chose to include teens in the story. I am a fan of single parents and this has two. In the book MacKenzie and Campbell show that being an adult and parent IS putting your kids first. But the best part is that the kids show the adults that they can still be adults and date and have relationships. There is a scene between McKenzie and her son Kyle where he basically says, I thought you were already dating. Kids are smart lol.

Number 2 - Andi Arndt knows her shyte. She has such a warm tone that she just floats into character. Doesn't matter the age, male or female, it just works. Kudos to her for always nailing it. LOL, pun intended (smiley face)

Number 1 - It's a book about romance, friendships, parenthood, and family all wrapped up in a musical bow. There are moments where you smile and laugh out loud while walking your dog. There are moments, while walking your dog you turn down the volume of your phone because the characters are talking dirty... #truestory

Blakely scores 5 headphones for this comedy because it definitely made me feel good and got me out of my audio slump. Plus, you can't go wrong with her words, SebYo's comedic timing and Andi's ability to make your ears drool in excitement!

Smut sells. Michael Rourke learned this the hard way. Struggling to make ends meet as a mystery writer, he sold his soul - and his pride - as he pedaled sex and lust writing under the pen name Christoph Strong. No one knew he was the one behind the steamy stories on the best sellers lists. And he planned to keep it that way. Until he met her.

The story between Lauren and Michael is written so well. Many times I wanted to say come on y'all. lol But the build up to the end was well done.

Joel Froomkin is possiy one of the most talented narrators on the planet. My god. What he could do with 7-8 characters was nothing short of amazing. I have never enjoyed a man performing a female POV in my life until I listened to this book.

I hope Amalie writes more books and I'm off to download more Joel!

Unbreak My Heart is about the journey of healing, finding peace and having a second chance at love. Such a great listen. Blakely tells a heartfelt story about letting go and learning to cope with grief the right way. I love that Holland knew how to give Andrew space to heal on his own so their relationship could get a second chance.

This is not a sugary, spicy, funny rom-com that we are used to by Blakely, but a story that encompasses all the emotion you get from loss and the steps one takes to become whole. How did I connect with the story? I believe all of us have had to deal with something so monumental that life took a turn. We may have used coping mechanisms that seemed minimal at the time, but found that it influenced our relationships with others and ourselves. I've been there.

With Andrew, we don't get all the details of his relationship with his brother, but we can sense the emotional connection and loss he felt after the passing. We see/hear it in the tone and attitude of the story. There was a moment where Andrew questions if he had known his brother at all and begins to feel anger which is another stage of grief. However, his journey leads him to an understanding of what's important. That living life one day at a time with "NO REGRETS" is simply the best path to happiness.

Joe Arden delivers a perfect narration as Andrew. You can hear the vulnerability, sadness and determination in his interpretation. I am used to hearing Joe perform roles where he is an arrogant a-hole or a smug, conceited bad boy, however, this story, I believe allowed him an opportunity to flex his acting skills in a different type of romance. Definitely one of my favorite performances.

Erin Mallon, as always knows how to "be" the character. It is like she has a sixth sense and tunes in perfectly to deliver the character’s emotions. She nails it EVERY.SINGLE.TIME! I honestly can say the Arden/Mallon pairing was a hit!
